Not saying they can't be annoying. I just don't see it having anything to do with whether a person is insecure or not. Some people are can back their talk. I suppose to me it makes a person look insecure. How are you judging that they're not? Even those who brag who CAN back it up.. Doesn't mean they are secure. I've been thinking about this more.. I guess other than a kind of joking around, I see no reason to brag. Being overly humble is definitely not necessary, as already covered, but the only reason to brag is to try to influence other people's opinions of you. Needing others to think highly of you, even if you can back it up, seems insecure.

Not really. I'm presenting a different point of view. I find this discussion interesting. In terms of sexiness, i do find traits like modesty, confidence, and especially intelligence to be highly overrated. At least for me it would be.

Yeah, that's what i was mentioning earlier. It isn't socially acceptable by most people. Though a person who can be boastful without caring much for being accepted would probably have a much higher self esteem than the one who holds back.
