Just wondering, cause I have a couple of cousins that when they come visit me and stuff, They’ll also always have some sort of “Service animal dog” carried on a leash that they bring with them too? Dog also comes with like a “Label” or “thing it wears on it” that does specifically say “Service Animal” on the dog as well!!

You at your current age, would you ever feel like you’d need the help or assistance of any service animal to help you get by day to day? Or do you think you can personally handle your own health and not need help from an animal??

What would you need a service animal for? I'm not sure I know all of the things people need service animals for, but I'm pretty sure you'd have to officially have a disability that would benefit from having a service animal to officially have one. Something like blindness, etc. Some people may illegally use a service animal jacket on a dog so they can take it places that would otherwise be restricted for animals.

People can also get emotional support animals (ESA's). ESA's (in the US) are restricted in public places that normally ban animals, but you can get an ESA if you live in an apartment even if your landlord forbids pets, because technically, it's not a pet. I think you'd have to get a written document from a doctor or other healthcare professional recommending an ESA to get one, but I don't think that's hard to do.

I actually do have a disability! Maybe should have mentioned that in the previous post! I’m considered “autistic” but think “Asbergers” is my disability. Pretty sure got asbergers syndrome!

In the old days you had to be blind to get a "Seeing Eye Dog".

Now anyone who has ever had a bad day gets to bring some sort of animal along with them wherever they go.

My step-dad (rip) had multiple sclerosis, and had a service dog. Poor guy. That's something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

I'm not sure if autism would be a qualifying disability, but maybe. How would having a service dog with you help?
