Seroquel Toxicity

Hi

I was wondering if anyone knew the toxicity of seroquel xr? Or a mg dosage which would lead to an overdose? I read a report on a site of someone eating a certain amount of seroquel and overdosing on it. However it did not seem very viable and i was wondering if anyone had any other information in that regard.

^^^ yeah man i was reading an article online recently that A-Z the company that makes seroquel is being sued for some ridiculous amount because they marketed it as such a cure for so many different things, and just generally over-exagerated its medical use. I think that is one of the contributing factors to it being given to so many different people for so many different reasons.

 

I worked in a hospital, some doctors were giving it to the most severe cases, where other didnt believe it was the right medications for the patient..
severe cases by that I mean : really acting out, having to use force to restrain patient, fighting, extremely agitated individuals without any hope of real therapy and mental health treatment..

its not like lil bit of Thorazine, shit will mess you up.. like CIA truth serum .

 

Lol....my doctor prescribed me this shit for panic attacks, I didn't touch it.

 

seroquel is some nasty shit. i've only taken the non-xr...I don't even wanna think about that shit being extended release, ughhhh!!!

 

my doc prescribed it to me for sleep.i wont ever touch that shit again!!!!my legs and feet wouldnt stop twitching,felt like i drank 6 gallons of vodka,couldnt walk,didnt know who or where i was,couldnt even stand up to take a piss.and all i took was a little sliver of the pill.ill stick with my benzos.

 

I think of seroquel as one of the most eeeevil pharmaceuticals out there because I know so many people on it in one form or another who have no idea what it is, most of whom are under 18. technically it isn't legal to prescribe to children, but through some loophole, it seems to be rather popular with psychiatrists nowdays anyway. Its not such a bad idea for crash room hallucinating suicidal schizophrenics, but most of the people i see it scripted to either can't sleep or are "BPD" teenage girls. I was on 100mg 2x/day for a while and forced to take it under some rather fucked up circumstances. I usually hid it in my mouth and spat them out but I took them a few times and felt like some sort of weird emotionless zombie. You can't think. arghh.
Why do people think this stuff is recreational? I know a bunch of kids who stay on it cuz "they feel like they smoked a spliff.." Fucking terrible drug. Sorry for my rant, but it tends to happen every time someone mentions seroquel. Bad shit...

Even when I had a legitimate reason for being scripted it (hallucinations, crazy shit, etc.), I found it was the only pharmaceutical that ever made me hallucinate, but not in a good way. I was forced to take it, with the other option being an injection of olanzepine. I found the worst thing was it gave me that feeling you get when you hear epic music or something, the goosebumps and all, which is usually good, but it wouldn't go away. And after a few hours that feeling is fuckign scary..

 

I completley agree with everyone above. And im not sure if the misconception exsists but i am NOT trying to ingest it for recreational purposes. Hedgeclipper you are completley right, it makes you feel like a zombie. And i do NOT see how people could relate it to smoking buds. not the same in any way shape or form. If i could relate the feeling to anything it would be to a lot of alcohol and then a terrible blackout. Personally i am prescribed it for anxiety and insomnia, however, i find it helps me very little with anxiety and does nothing unless i take a large dose. When i do take a large dose i feel drunk, then eventually just pass out. I rarely ever take the stuff, and never have to get a recreational high.

I wonder when the FDA will start doing something about seroquel been prescribed to so many for so many different reasons. Its such bullshit in my opinion. Another pharmaceutical company that is trying to make money and just whoring out their product.

 

For a while the seroquel problem was pretty under the radar and people are profitting off it a lot! I think of some of these companies as as bad as the damned cartels...
A few months back I was reading the newspaper and I finally heard something about this bullshit. The fact that anyone cares to mention it makes me happy.

(and there are a bunch of follow up articles, too). Very interesting, talks about the DSM-V and problems with overprescription of antipsychotics in Canada.

"Across Canada, pharmacies last year dispensed 61.2 million prescriptions for psychotherapeutics, worth nearly $2.4 billion." and that's just tiny little Canada. Imagine how much this shit is worth to the pharms in the US.

Aside from the ridiculous amount of money they make off the zombie drugs, this is what pisses me off this most:

They tell all the kids who smoke weed about all the huge problems it will cause to their brain developpment, how it will make them fat, etc. while almost as many of these kids are being prescribed something that is supposed to cause like 1lb/week weight gain and even more neurological problems. If they're mostly scripted to teenage girls with anxiety, it's a horriblee catch-22 because it makes them fat which is probably what causes the anxiety anyways, then anorexia, etc. huge pill of bullshit...

 

When i was first prescribed it a while back i was under 18. The off label thing can be good in some cases HOWEVER in the case of seroquel it is such bullshit. Im right with you man, these drug companies market this stuff as wonder drugs and really they are just doing it to make money. its so soulless.

 

Yep. At least with the drug cartels, people buying heroin know they're buying heroin and it's fucking heroin. With AstroZeneca, people buying seroquel think they're buying some sort of wonder drug that will solve all their problems from anxiety/depression to sleeping (problems that everyone has and, therefore, everyone can be scripted for), but they're actually getting a zombie mindcontrol drug. I find they basically script them for the same reasons as benzos which peppl;e usually don't need anyways, but doctors don't wanna script people recreational drugs, so they use seroquel instead.

Its been one of my dreams to get rich and scam the world by inventing a pill for hypochondria. It looks like someone else got to it first. I was just gonna use a sugar pill, though, not something with every possible side affect...

 

Who brainwashed the psychs into thinking this is such a wonder drug? The scope of its use should be limited or at least have some very strong receptor logic behind it. Anyway I agree it totally sucks, even the mild visuals it caused during the transition on or off it was in no way worth the depression and zombification.

 

It's hard to even have receptor logic behind the use of seroquel as it is what's called a "dirty drug," it has really random affects on different parts of the brain that vastly variate from dose to dose or person to person. It's just a neural clusterfuck.

 

What do you mean by mild visuals? Explain please.
And in response to who brainwashed the psychiatrists, AstraZeneca, which is the pharmaceutical company which makes Seroquel. They marketed it to cure so many things, as has been said throughout this thread. Im so glad other people are in agreement that this drug is bullshit.

However no one has really answered the questions in my OP. What amount of seroquel in mg or otherwise is toxic to the human body. It will obviously vary from person to person. But any information would be greatly appreciated.

personally the only people I seen seeking the drug were heroin addicts coming to the hospital for FAKE treatments..
When you see the same junkie over and over with random acts of depression and anxiety, its safe to assume these people are not worth the governments cost of health care. Since these are street people, with no self respect for themselves. I can understand why the psych prescribes such a medication..
They are not coming to the hospital for real psychiatric help, They are Abusing the system to get high on pharmaceuticals and this is 100% drug seeking behavior.. If you want to do drugs, fine. I dont care if 100% of your behavior is wrapped up in seeking drugs. but the kinds of drugs your seeking isnt safe..
you wanna smoke weed all day, I dont care.. But when you become a self injurious heroin addict, crackhead, alcoholic and are harming other people for your consumption. This is when I feel you either need an OVeRDOSE and never wake up, or just a good old ass kicking to wake you up..

Whether I streamed off topic here, Idk.. Im high as fuck off something I grew in the back yard. better call the Federal goverement cause Im treating myself and not using the heath care system other than for my combat relation illnesses..
And 1/2 of that Im treating on my own ... normally I just use glue to mend myself .. but thats my business,, Im not stuck in a chair at the doctors office pretending im sick ..

 

gotta agree with ya.my younger brother is facing 7 counts of masked armed robbery and beating an old guy over the head with a PLASTIC toy gun just to get money for heroin.in one prison 4 attemps on his life were made.he was moved to another prison and then my sister bailed his stupid ass out.he shoulkdve stayed there and been killed for what he did just to stick a fuckin needle in his arm.ill stick with my weed and kpins/xanax.i have an actual medical reason for the pins and xanys,i have wicked bad anxiety and a wicked bad temper.

 

I saw a cat materialize out of particles in the air on a chair, hiss at me and jump down and run away before the particles dissappeared back into the air.

I remember being scared and not wanting to turn the lights off. I would also hear things also like my name being called or someone knocking at my door.

I started out at 25mg of seroquel and they increased it to 400mg before I said "fuck this shit". It seems like they would never stop increasing it. Eventually I proably would have been taking thousands of milligrams a day or some shit. They don't know when to stop.

 

Why do you wanna know so badly? You planning on killing yourself or something?
