i saw one case of that in real life, when i worked in a hospital.

the guy was brought into the ER. his lower right leg was three times larger then it should have been.
the doc just started an incision on his leg and, out pop a load of worms all over the place.
the guy had a screw worm infestation. :ack2:

that video looked something like screw worms.

While working in a clinic in India, there was this girl had pus under her scalp. I would press on her scalp and pus would come out of a break in her skin and we cleaned it. She came back on a day when I was off and the other guy said a worm came out when he cleaned it.

Guinea worms are what you ingest in water in the tropics. Not the worms but their eggs. They mature in your body and burrow out of your legs. You can't just pull them out or they break off and get infected. You wrap them around a stick and slowly work them out.

The Caduseus, the ancient symbol of snakes around a staff that represents medicine is more likely reprsenting the worm wrapped around a stick.

There are some disgusting things out there in the tropics.
