Is there anyone here who is a real hippie?? Most of you say you are but theres no proof... I just wanna know if there are actual hippies here that wudnt lie(corny, I know). I'm new so I haven't really read around or anything if there is already a thread like this but can anyone tell me. I also want to see if there is anyone here who could tell me in their shortest time about the 60's...everything they know. Oh yea and you havecan't like any music from now days...at all.

Does it matter. :) I listen to everything and enjoy all, just becuase it's not from the sixties doesn't mean I'm going to shut it out. That's not what it's about... you've got to learn to accept and understand. :p These are the times...

Might be better off in the old hippies forum, seeing as some of them are the real thing. Or at least were alive in the 60's.

Round here, nah were all diet hippy (just one calorie, not hippy enough. To parapharase doctor Evil :)) but it's cool, for the most part they're a good bunch. Don't have to be hippy to be great company.

So if you listen to good musicians like Michael Franti or Keller Williams or Ani D, who sing great music with meaningful lyrics, you can't be a hippie at all?

i seriously hope this thread doesn't turn into one of those "what do you MEAN, "hippie??!?!" "it's not good to label, how would you define hippie?" type of threads where everyone gets defensive. those make me sad for the original poster in most cases.

I wouldnt call myself a complete hippie...but i could consider myself a hippie for a new generation. I listen to music from the 60's, but i like to open myself to all kinds of music. I believe in peace love and harmoney, and i live by it. You dont have to follow every little thing about hippies in the 60's back then to be a hippie today.

how can you define what a "real hippy" is? the "hippy" movement is something that sprung and evolved as a subculture. soceity attached the name as it went on.

    Hey. :)
Don't take people here so seriously. It's kind of like the real world: you can't let things get to you or else people will chew you up and spit you out like a piece of Juicy Fruit. It sucks, but it's just the way it is.
Feel free to say whatever you want here, and by no means shut out that curious nature. It'll take you far. :) Just don't take everything too seriously. Relax...

Derek stop being an asswipe. :)
