ive got a friend who is taking prozac for anxiety purposes.. he used to have some depression but he has overcome most of it and now wants to trip. we are probably gonna do it in the next few days if we can get it, but its looking good so i want to make sure hes not gonna have any problems or anything. does this mess with your brain, that is antidepressants and prozac and shit mixed with L? should he not take it, or just skip a day or two of his meds? any information or redirection to any informative websites would be greatly appreciated, thanks
well idk im on prozac for depression an i took a few hits an nothing happened but my buddies took the same stuff an they were tripping balls L messis with the seritonin in your brain and so does prozac so i really dont know if that had something to do with it so i would recomend that you do some good searching an fill me in cause im definatly curious lol
Well heres the situation. It's been proven that prozac will stop almost ALL side effects of LSD, so he's gonna have to stop taking it prior to the trip. Now heres the other problem. Prozac has an extremely long half life (1-2 weeks, and thats only half of it out of your system), so not taking it for a few days is going to not do anything. If he really wants to trip, you should just postpone the trip for around a month (or else you'll just be wasting your acid).
man i wish i knew this way sooner guess i wasted 3 hits of liquid fuck my life lol well i know now. so you should stop takeing it about a month before? now will another meds do the same thing? like zanax or anything?

No xanax won't block any effects at all, it is an immediate acting anti-anxiety med. SSRI's are all you need to worry about, but only prozac you have to stop taking for a month because its half life is so goddamn long. Other SSRI's, such as zoloft or celexa, you'd only need to stop taking for a few days because their half life is only a day. However if you suddenly stop taking zoloft or celexa than you will get SSRI withdrawals since they leave your system so quickly, and you'll be feeling the exact opposite of what they help you for before your trip. That's why generally prozac is a better SSRI for that reason, withdrawals arent as bad.

When I was young and naive I took 4 hits of good lsd while Prozac (nasty shit) was well in my system. The come on was ridiculously long and I was then whacked with one of the hardest trips I've experienced in my life for a short time.
I guess it could have been but this was when I was 16 and was one of my first ten trips on anything. I still get stuff from this source, have been for years, and he has only ever been upfront about what he's got. I've just attributed it to combo, mainly because I was with two other people who tripped normally on the same paper...regardless this trip was so ridiculously strong that even after years have gone by, now and then I remember pieces of the trip that I had forgotten. My outlook on life totally flipped because it was so profound and real, more visual than LSD has ever been for me. From the time it nailed me to the time I was back to this world it had probably only been seven hours. I just don't know. DOx aren't my strong point and I haven't done much research, I guess I'd like to experience it again now that I'm more ready.
