Hi. My name is Kat and I work at a preschool. Im the lead infant teacher. I had a mother that started bringing her 4 month old daughter in so that the mother can go to school. Like I said its been two weeks and everyday for the past two weeks she crys when she drops her off.

Now I Call her in the middle of the day to give her updates on how her daughter is doing, and I make our line of communication open and she knows that she is welcome to call me durring the day to find out how her daughter is doing. I write long notes and updates on her daughters daily sheet to let her know how her daughter does through out the day to help ease this anxiety that she feels leaving her daughter at daycare.

I understand this mothers anxiety and sadness at having to leave her daughter somewhere else while she is off at school. And it is not my place to suggest that she stay home with her daughter ( this is what I would like to do when I have children someday.) The mother also says that it is not me that makes her anxious about leaving her behind.

I try very hard to make this mother comfortable with leaving her daughter behind with me. I was wondering if you as mothers had any other suggestions that I can do to make her feel better about this situationl. I Just want to help her out.

    Thank you in advance!

    -Kat

Do you have a digital camera with video capability? Maybe a webcam that actually captures and records video? So you can save them to a cd and she can see her child's activities throughout the day while she is under your care?

I know my biggest upset now that I am working fulltime is the knowledge that I'm not seeing everything that Moire is doing. Even the mundane stuff like napping, taking a bath, or eating dinner...I want to be there for it all. So if it were me, a video cd maybe once a week of what her daughter is doing might help. :)

Hippy that is a GREAT idea! I didnt think of that. Seeing that her daughter is ok. would probably be better than me just telling her. Thanks a ton.
