So I used L'oreal Color Pulse in Red Pulse on my blonde hair. My hair varied from lightish blonde to dirty blond. (Go here to see the result: http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=132073 )

It says it's supposed to wash out in 8 to 10 shampoos. Silly me I believed it, and after doing some research online (of course AFTER the fact, doh!) I read in some places that it doesn't ever completely wash out. Is this true? Can anyone share any experience with this stuff? And what to do in the event that it doesn't wash completely out? Thanks :)

if someone with dark hair used the product, it would appear to have "washed out". But, your hair is so light, that it probably stained it. I think your only option is to bleach your hair. The bleach wouldn't have to be on long, as its only the cuticle that is stained, not the hair shaft itself. Probably only 10 minutes or so.

    Good luck!

well is your hair naturally blonde or was in treated before this. i know i used to lighted my hair in highschool and one time followed in with a pink semi permanant rinse. which stayed in my hair for months. i knew this would happen and was fine with it. once hair is treated it leaves the hair very porous, as hair dye actually pulls out the pigments when lightening. and once you put something with color over this kind of treatment. the pourous hair just suchs it up. thats if its treated. if its naturally blonde it may fade in time but blode hair is something to take care in any treatment you just never know.

You are only supposed to go one or two shades darker than your natural haircolor. If you go drastically different, like you did, it'll have to grow out. I have light brown hair and used wash out cherry black. Needless to say it had to grow out and it looked horrible.
Best thing for you to do is, when it starts to grow out use permanent dye in close to your natural haircolor. You may have to dye it twice.
It does look really cool though!

well personally i like the red--but as been said, your options are to wait it out, bleach it (which you would have to be very very careful doing), or dye it a darker color. with the bleaching/dyeing i'd wait a few weeks to give it a little time to recover, longer if you can. and then use a good conditioner to help keep it from getting too coarse.

I do like the red, but along with what the others have said... I've found toothpaste helps.

I dyed my hair a colour very close to that a few weeks ago... I got sick of it adn shaved it off again though..hahah But it was only about 2 1/2 inches long anyhow..From the last time I shaved it.. I don't suggest you do this, because you have beautiful long hair. :)

another option, if you really want it out and have the money, is to go to the salon, they have some stuff which sort of "strips" the dye out of hair. i'm not sure exactly what it is called. this will probably leave your hair damaged, so you'll have to use an extra moisturizing conditioner but they can probably get your hair back to its natural color.

i would maybe call a few in your area and explain what happened and see if they can help, if you wanted to...

    good luck

Hmmm.. I've had that done before... That was when I was naive enough to dye my hair black..

They just bleach the hell out of it.. My hair wasn't damaged or anything (well I'm sure it was to some extent.. I didn't notice a difference though) I went to a hairdressers and it turned out fine. :D They just strip it and dye it your natural colour.
