I would not call myself a nudist, more a exhibitionist on a beach I will get naked and masturbate under a towel, and I am always the first one to get naked at a party, I like being nude when everyone around me is dressed.
It's comments like those in this thread that get me going. I mean, the thought of the women who masturbate under a towel or who consider themselves to be exhibitionist, it makes me feel the need to know what they look like but I haven't yet found a place in this site where we can see each other. One time, I was with my best friend, his partner and her best friend one evening in that other best friend's house. The conversation moved on to nudism/naturism and other things. Not sure what we were talking about but, long story short, I got naked. I'm not usually so upfront but something just felt right about it and they were all good friends, with whom I felt safe. As I began to strip off, my friend and his partner left (not offended or anything like that) and I was nude. The other woman also got naked and we had a very enjoyable evening. At another friends house with the same people there, as were at the first occasion, one suggested the owner be careful what he's saying or I may get naked. He was half joking but was making a point that I like to get naked. I wasn't pleased that he had announced it with people I knew less well. The owner's wife said I should go for it but I sensed her husband wasn't comfortable with that so I didn't. I think it's a lovely feeling to be naked, unplanned/spontaneously, with people who though friends, are people with whom that sort of fun was never on our radar.
I'm a nudist and an exhibitionist. Nothing under a towel for me, all out in the open. Love being watched. Love people joining in too.
Sending pictures to each other isn't against the rules. Only posting them out in the open is. (Or I'd already have pics posted, and I'm sure I'm far from alone.)
I understand that and agree with it but, I also see irony. This site; a site for exhibitionists/nudists/open-minded people of all kinds, restricts exhibitionism and openness.

I grew up nudist full time. I never cared for sunscreen. If I started getting too much sun, I would throw on a T-shirt only. I always liked big baggy clothes not for hiding but for comfort. So, my shirts would also fully cover my penis and balls. And if I got cold, I would sit pulling my knees up and shirt over them. Again, never to hide under only for comfort. I still don't fell I did that enough to say I was a semi nudist. I have seen many people who were semi nudist in only going topless or a long shirt to hide under. I only asked or tried to a few friends when we were kids to get them fully nude. Mom would always remind me to give them time. Most in time did and enjoyed it!
I think I can say we're the same there. I like being naked alot, but I wouldn't call myself a nudist per se, since part of nudism is that it isn't supposed to be sexual, but everytime I'm nude around others or vice versa, there's definitely an element of arousal
