selling my peices to buy a vaporizer

and no, i'm not going to sell them to anybody here.

anyway, ive got a cold, and i feel like shit. i've been thinking, half the shit i'm coughing up probably is from smoking rather than just from the cold. it sure can't be HELPING me. i've been thinking of all the money i've spent on pipes...but even though they may all smoke differently, a pipe is a pipe. i really don't need to have 4 nice glass pieces plus my wooden chillum. its excessive, and if anything bad ever goes down it means that many more counts of paraphernelia. i'm thinking i'd like to sell most or all of my glass and use the money to buy a vaporizer. i'd still get high as fuck, with my limited experience with vaporizers it's more of an up and energetic high and thats what i usually like anyway, and i wouldnt be inhaling smoke or the fumes from lighters every day.

now the dilemna is in what peices to sell, and how many of them. i'm thinking i should sell three of my glass peices and keep one glass peice and the chillum. but i'm attached to all of them, unfortunately, and they're all very nice peices. i have a 14"glass bong that i bought for 100 bucks, still in good condition, a thick blue beautifully colored but very plain in shape spoon, a really sweet mostly green sherlock (and big enough it doesnt so easily get clogged as most sherlocks i've seen), and a really nice rather large glass chillum. i figure if i want to get enough money to buy a vape, though, i probably ought to try to make at least 90 bucks if i want to get anywhere close to a decent vaporizer. i want to have a peice on hand still in case i actually want to SMOKE some pot, but part of me is thinking i could really use the extra money, and if i really want smoke in my lungs i could still always roll a joint or a blunt.

i think if i keep a peice, i want to keep either the bong or the glass chillum. the "chillum" would be cool because i could take it with me places, but then if i need to be mobile i can always roll joints or blunts again, and most of my friends have pipes anyways. and even if i can't find a way to smoke its not the end of the world, just kind of a bummer. on the other hand i could keep the bong, which is fun and gets me stoned fast and hard, i've heard it compared to being punched in the face with pot. but it is obviously no good for taking out of the house, same as the vaporizer, and i could probably get more money for it than the chillum, being such a big and originally expensive peice anyway.

so what do you guys suggest? i want a GOOD vaporizer, but something like the volcano vapes are way out of my price range. i've used a really cheap simple vape from a headshop around here that didn't have a heat control setting and it actually took more pot to get just as high, and i dont want that.....but i'm curious if i can really get a good enough vaporizer for 100 bucks or less? it's kind of bothering me...i want to do this, but not if its going to leave me with a shitty vape and no peices....

 

original prices for the peices:
bong - $150, on sale for $120, given to me at a further discount by the store owner for $100

blue spoon - $65 (overpriced, but its a nice enough peice and has served me faithfully enough i dont care)

sherlock - $45 (way cheaper than the spoon, but just as nice except slightly thinner glass)

glass "chillum" - $35 dollar...nicer than the average glass bat, and a much bigger than normal bowl pack for such a peice...

so i'm thinking when i decide to sell these that the bong i could probably get $50-70 for, since its used but it still works and looks great.

the spoon and sherlock i would charge $30-40 each, i think

the chillum would be 20 bucks.

if i sold the bong for 70, the chillum for 20, and regular pipes for 30, i would make an easy $150. then i could save up a few bucks here and there so i could buy one of the nicer looking models with temperature control and all that instead of one of the cheap 60-80 dollar models. i think this may be what i end up doing.

 

I would hold on to at least one of the pipes, if it were me. The nostalgic value, man. I could never part with my first pipe I bought. But good luck with selling your stuff and working up the money, Vaps are great inventions!

 

yeah, i know, but the thing is i love all my peices a lot and i can't really decide to keep one or another. its not like they're my kids or anything, but its the same principle. plus the health factor, they really aren't doing me any favors except in comparison with blunts. thats about it.

i've been looking around online today, read some reviews on quite a few different vaporizers made by quite a few different companies, and i think i've come to a decision as to which i want. judging from reviews, pricing, and the features available for each product i've looked at, i think that probably the best buy for what i'm looking to spend would be the Vapir One thing (with cord, not the rechargable portable battery one)....digital temperature control for either celsius or farenheit....and i've read some really good things about how efficient they are in getting full use of the THC compared to the cheaper, more commonplace soldering iron type vapes. i've seen them for sale various places, but it looks like most places are selling them for around 150 dollars, and many places are currently offering the inflatable balloon kit free when you buy the rest of the system right now, which is supposed to make it infinitely better to use.

does anyone have experience using this product, and does it live up to the reputation it seems to have? i think i'm probably going to try to buy one of these. if it's as efficient as it says, then i don't see any reason i'd prefer to actually smoke the pot rather than vaporize the THC on a regular basis. it would be much healthier and require less pot, not to mention taste better and probably produce a more enjoyable high. and like i said, if i ever REALLY want to smoke it, i could always use papers or roll a blunt.

Are you absolutely shure there is no way you can get a Volcano? In my opinion I would rather wait a few months to get the best vaporizer available than buy one that doesnt have as much credibility or isnt as reliable.

 

ok, i'm not 15. my money goes to other things than just drugs believe it or not, and even within a few months i'm NOT going to be able to save up nearly 600 dollars to buy a volcano. apart from having other expenses, i'm in a very bad monetary situation right now. hence contemplating selling my pipes to buy a vaporizer rather than just buying a vaporizer.

i hear ya nesta, that's one of the main reasons im going to pick up a vaporizer as soon as possible..unfortunately it's going to be a while cause i'm in some crappy financial situations too, gotta pay rent, bills, etc...

i think i'm going to buy the volcano though..it's a lot of money to spend but i think it will be totally worth it..

 

Vaporizers are awsome! but the high is waay different from pipes, bongs and bubblers. It's more of like...u feel very euphoric, like u can actually get shit done during the day, not so much "stoned" as you would be if u used a bowl and feel retarded. If I were to get a vape, it would probably be one of those VAPIR's. They are about $120-$150 depending on location. Plus, I heard that they work great and are small enough to fit in your pocket. I would probably keep one of the pipes as well just incase you have some technical difficulties with the vape sometime in the future.
