So I haven't posted on here in ages due to lack of a home computer. But here's my question:

I'm in need of some major space-saving tips. Right now I'm ridding myself of most of my possessions. 5 people sharing a small apartment and I've wanted to do this for a long time. Anyway, in a few months my boyfriend and I will hopefully be ending our lease and hitting the road. We will then be going from an apartment to a van or small camper. I'm looking for any clever ideas you've come up with along the way. We are not great at fitting into small spaces, although we're learning.

    Thanks a lot!

Buy/Use things that have a dual use. I have a digital compass that is also an alarmclock, battery operated and smaller than a cel phone. You have to look around but there are lots of things like that out there.

The only other advice I would give is the same I would give to someone setting out on foot: Lay everything you are taking out on your livingroom floor. Divide it into two piles, that which you will need to survive and that which you would really like to take. Then throw everything in pile #2 away. You'll collect stuff along the way and you're going out in a vehicle, so you already have SOME creature comfort, moreso than those on foot.

    Best of luck.
