This is a great site if you are interested in the chem junk they put in our soaps, cosmetics, etc. http://www.health-report.co.uk/ I always wondered about that stuff on the bottle that I can't pronounce. The UK has banned hundreds of chemicals from their products....why not the US?? Maybe because methylparaben is like a thousand times cheaper than vitamin E as a preservative..... Drag. Either way...it must be known. Also check out the "chemical house" on greenpeace's website for more information. Hurry! Before the cancer sets in!
Wow! That site was interesting. I would never have thought of some of those things they mentioned would happen. Especially about breast milk being toxic, no matter twhat lifestyle the mother leads. Thanks for the site Turquoise
i remember i had found a website ages ago that posted what products test on animals, i couldn't believe some of the things they tested on animals... it was awful. i'll try to find it.
eventually we are all posined by something, as much as it sucks. you can be overly cautious about this, or you can just hope that what you buy does more positive than harm and try to minimize the negative effects by excercising and what not, or just drinking a lot of water to drain out all the toxins within your body.
Not to take away from your point - but something to keep in mind that EVERYTHING is 'toxic' in sufficient amounts. Which isn't the same thing as carcinogenic/mutagenic of course. But water and oxygen intoxication can kill you too.
The poison that I am very focused on keeping out of my body is aspartame. I have been to the hospital twice as a result of ingesting this chemical. It is not safe!!! It is very dangerous for pregnat women and their fetus and the elderly and everyone else. Do yourself and your body a big favor and refuse this chemical read the lables the stuff is in many foods and you are fair game if you are eating foods labled "sugar free" or "less sugar" let these words be a warning....
while you're at it, you can cross out any product with carrageenan in it. i regularly shop at a good foods co-op and was surprised to find them carrying Silk soy milk and Morningstar Farms veggie meat products. yeah, Silk tastes the best, but even their owners (Dean Foods?) admit that carrageenan is harmful. in fact, this "natural byproduct of seaweed" is awfully carcinogenic; this has been demonstrated repeatedly in laboratories. i'm also upset with Ben & Jerry for adding it into their ice cream. natural, my ass.
i would just like to see, for once, a society that actually subsidizes companies that have, above profits, mother earth and the rest of humanity in their best interest.
I am beginning to realize that if I can't pronounce it, it probably has no place in my body. I have a lot of thoughts about these types of things spinning in my head and at some point after thinking about it everything blurs together. I am starting to follow this one thought process through though and feel good about it. (I know that had absolutely nothing to do with my first comment but it just came out. More blurriness...)
