Well, this is a freaky thing that happened to me... Here's how it goes ... I dated a guy named Daniel when I was 17, I had slept with him on the first night we met. We had a serious relationship after that it went for close to 2 years, our families met, and we'd spent lots of time together. He ended up cheating on me, so it was see you later. Then at 27 I was at the local playing some pool with some girl friends, I saw a cutie with his mates and he was looking my way. I had to go home as it was getting late + I had work early the next morning. I was embarressed to speak to him, after he was giving me his dimpled smile. So I ended up getting a girl friend to do the dirty work for me once i'd left the place though, and she gave him my Number, it was the first time and the last time I would ever do that again. He called me an hour or so later, and we spoke for at least an hour. I told him he looked Familiar, asked him what nationality he was? (and he was was the same as Daniel (my X)) I asked him if he had a brother named Daniel (answered NO) What he did for work? (Totally different trade). He was 30 and his name was Stephen (same as one of Daniels brother). We were on the phone for nearly a whole 4 hours the next day and he didn't want to get off. He told me he was seperated and that he had a 3 year old daughter. It worried me a little that he had a child, but no so much that his X would be in the picture for ever, because I was looking at future with this guy and it had only been a day (idiot). He wanted to take me out during the week, so i said yes, over the weekend too, so I said yes, you couldn't really say no to him, he wanted to see me all the time (he became a little obsessed with me). I'd seen him every day since we'd met, we'd kissed, touched but that's as far as it went until the next weekend (2 weeks later) when he'd booked us into a room at a classy Hotel in the City. We were at the reception and he made me put the room in my name, which he paid for, it was weird. We went into the room got ready; He had a couple of lines of Cocaine (which turned me off him a little) because i've never touched drugs in my life and I wouldn't touch it for no one. On our way out the front desk operator stopped him and said "Oh, your the Chef ha" (some where along those lines any way). And he's said "no not me mate you got the wrong guy" In my head I was liek what? that's what trade my X Daniel from 10 years' ago was in. Fuck my head was in such a mess. It was actaully spinning me out. I started to think oh my gosh is this who i think it is Stephen, Daniels older brother, it couldn't be he looks so different, he's like 30 kgs lighter (yeah from all the drugs) + i'd seen Stephens wife where I get my nails done at and i knew that they were still together + I would never have done any thing with him cause I'd known her (the so called x wife Sarah), whom i'd seen him argue with, cheat on, and i've actually comforted her whilst she cried on my shoulder many of time 10 years ago. Back at the room around mid-night, we had sex and we laid together afterwards, I looked at him, and in a weird sort of way and saw Stephen from 10 years ago, right there in front of my eyes. I freaked out and I asked him straight out, "Is your wife Sarah and he started freaking out saying what how do you know this. He first denied it all, but then once i'd started to tell him his Surname, Mum, & Dads names, Where he used to live, street, number & all. That I used to go out with his Younger Brother Daniel 10 years ago, we both broke out in tears, him probably thinking that he was being set up by his wife. I freaked out because of the whole situation the way I was thinking, maybe this could've worked but there was no chance now, no way. That night I called it quits, because I couldn't believe that he'd lied to me like this, on our first conversation I asked him if he had a brother named Daniel, and he said no, it was 1 BIG lie. He still persisted though for another month or so, i'd been a stupid girl too, met up with him again and again, he made me change my mobile number because he didn't want other guys calling me, he even took my phone to see who was calling me and when, he even held a knife on me because he thought I was lying to him all the time. He wanted to know who i'd slept with, where, when who and how many times, he'd become one sick demented puppy, I tell you I would never wish this on any one

I am pulled in like a moth to the flame. It sounds like the chemistry was all there, but the man was not worth the pain. The scarey thing about love is that you don't always get to choose it. Sometimes it chooses you. Too bad he lied. At least you found out what he was before you had his daughter and were left alone too. Good luck. James
