who loves Seattle?!? it is such an amazing city, i have such a love for this city, it is dear to my heart and i know it is also for lots of us!! what part are you in? what do you love about seattle? what is your Seattle???
Words can't begin to express my love for Seattle.. I'll use a quote from a movie, "I love the cold, it makes me feel alive!" I love the weather in seattle. I adore the cold and rain. One of my favorite things to do is enjoy a cup of coffee in the rain...
Born and raised in Seattle.. lived in the Ravenna-Bryant area first and then moved to Wedgewood-Lake City. Graduate of Nathan Hale high.
First, Capital, Queene Anne, and beacon hills all are in view of the freeway. The freeway has awesome views of the sound, the cascades, the Olympics, and downtown buildings.
It is hempfestive downtown in august. Been here since 1974. Lived on first hill, lived on capitol hill, lived on queen anne hill., lived on beacon hill looking down on rainier valley. Lived in south park, west seattle, north city, lake city, shoreline, edmonds, everett, marysville, arlington, snohomish, monroe, and baring on the stevens pass hwy. Right now wired in the woods on the ta-hu-ya peninsula in the middle of hood canal.
South lake union, smack between the space needle and public market. In a lot of ways, Seattle is what I had hoped the rest of the country might be like by this time, but even Seattle is now falling victim to its own success, with the banks charging by the square foot. I know all too well how easy it is for a city to become ruled by money and, progressively, lose all of its roots.
Been here 2 years, it's rough and crowded in a lot of ways, but I love it too. Has a neat vibe. Also appreciate you can drive half hour in any direction and find good hiking.
Loved the fairgrounds where the '64 World's Fair was held. Stayed in a hotel just a few blocks from the waterfront years ago. I don't think that particular area was all that great, as I was out one day walking the dobe when I met an older gent who told me that, "I wouldn't be afraid to walk around here at all if I had a dog like that!". I hadn't started my senior year of high school yet at the time. This was all of Seattle that I was able to see.
