I think that seals are not an endangered specie.

QUOTE WIKIPEDIA Harp seals have never been considered endangered and the Marine Animal Response Society, per March 2007, estimates the harp seal population in the world at 9.5 million.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seal_hunt#Sealing_debate

Also, are you against the killing of all animals? Pigs, veals, fish, chicken, etc. that are killed every day are not less defenseless than seals.

Yeah, I know, people are often put off by the fact that seals are so damn cute, but really where's the difference with other animals we kill.
Of course if you never eat meat and oppose the killing of all animal, I respect your choice. But if you eat meat and oppose the killing of seals, that's very contradictory.

Some of the methods they use are horrible and many seals are not killed immediately, so left to suffer. I hate any animal being killed, whether or not I find them cute.

Humanely slaughtered... mmm how can you say an animal is humanely slaughtered? Killing is always dirty, there's always some blood.
Neither, I don't eat seals and don't wear any fur, but I'm not against it.

Please, don't get angry. I'm sorry if I offended anybody. First, obviously, I know how to read, second, I'm not a cruel monster (or AlCapone??) just because I don't mind animals being hunted by humans. Besides hunt has been in traditionnal societies since the beginning of humanity.

Comparing seal hunt to cow slaughter is not off topic. I find the comparison rather appropriate, as they are both animals being killed for their meat and skin, and people might have an ethical problem with this.

IF seals were an endangered specie, I'd say stop the hunt, right away! But as long as they arn't, where is the difference with a human that savagely kills a seals and say a lion that savagely kills a antilope, or a bear that might eat a seal alive? We are animals who try to have morals, but we remain animals.

I am curious though. Do you eat meat?

Why wait until an animal is endangered before stoppping them being hunted? They are alive and feel pain just as we do, what gives humans the right to kill anything else? They have just as mich right to live as we do, it makes no difference if hunting has been around for generations - it is not needed today.

So are you also against all other hunts? (rabbit, deer, fish, wild boar, etc.)

Ah,but there's a little differance in stalking an animal that has some ability to escape or attack ,unlike little babies hangin' out with their mamas.

I am against all forms of hunting. I can't understand how people can be for it?

Funny how nobody ever suggested an expulsion of Alberta from Canada because of their oil companies. Oil industry and wanton oil consumption has caused lots of damages to the species and ecosystems worldwise.
