Ok theres this stuff called sea breeze its for people with dreads that cant wash there scalp everyday. YOu squeeze it out around your head and it takes away dandruff it leaves a nice smell. It really cleans yur scalp. doesnt make your heaD ITCH either.

Ive been using it. And it is really good when you cant wash your hair everyday.

But i want to know have any of yu heard of it. And if i should be using it.

It says used for dreads braids or any kind of hair style were you cant wash yur hair.

i looked all over and couldnt find it except 1 site that advocated not washing your hair for a month it didnt say what sea breeze is but said u can use it or witch hazel so i guess theyre simular

but the sitre was also advicating not washing...bad.. and..dreadhewadhq also bad

so my question is..why the hell would u use it instead of simply washing your hair? washing your hair helps drewads form faster
diont fall into that lie that dreads need to be fross and dirty to dread

sea breeze is just an astringent. it's mostly witch hazel. when i was a little bitty kid my dad used it as aftershave.

i don't think there's anything TOO gross in it, but seriously... just wash your head, or possibly just use straight up witch hazel... much more natural.

when my dreads were babies, i washed them every 3 or 4 days, and they did JUST fine. :)

yup. and then they moved around a lot and got tighter. it kinda has to happen to do the dreading process. cause if they stay tight they don't dread so well because there's no movement to create more knots.

it can look for weeks like there's no change... just loose, mostly undreaded hair. and then one morning you look, and it's a damn dread, lol! that's what's been happening with my little wispies... i've noticed they're all of a sudden turning into baby dreads, like overnight! :)

    dreads loosen and tighten
if u backcombeed they will have to loosen to dread right. washing more often will encourage real knottiness but there will be loosening before they dread
    its paty of the process
do u want tight backcombed hair for month after month ort do u want it to progress and become real dreads

if you feel the need b4 10 days to use somethng cause your hairs gross thats your clue to wash every 6 days.. or 4 days.. when u feel the grossness or itch its time to wash..why use some crap to help ui put that off longer when the more often u do the quicker u get dreads

    niobackcombing doesnt give u dreads
    backcombing does do dammage however
if u keep backcombing u do more and more dammage..also u disturb the natural locking process
    leave em alone
    thrpow on a wool hat
use a lil sea salt spray..
    thats all

then why does every one backcomb. or did they just backcomb so that when they do lock the locks will be were he want them.. Cause your hair will aventually lock on its own correct

ptpretty much aloyya ppl atr addictedto the idea that to gain a result you mustyt put in effort..
theres also the imediate gratification factor i want to do dreads tonight thing like dreading is something you can do in a night..
part of its also wantingto control a process that occurs naturaly
some ppl howeever do have oily hair resistant to natural locking so a lil head start is needed

    but only onde

many who backcomb find that alotta the backcombing comes apart completely before the dreads form on theyre own

why do incredibly beautiful women put on makeop for hours a day?
society conditions u to have to work at how u look, instead of jumpin ouutta bed ready to face the day your conditioned to "get ready" just to walk out the door..
after years of being conditioned to have to constantly work on your appearance the idea of simply letting go and allowing whatever happens to happen is alien
so u try to force your will obvver that of nature like u alwaus had while combing unknotting coinditioning (look in the shampoo isle theres 1 for body 1 fore shine 1 for curls 1 for silkiness 1 for taming frizzz u name it its all about forcing yopur will ovbdr natures)
dreading will break that addifcyive cucle..but many go through withdrawal think of backcombing and palmriolling as methadone replacing 1 addiction for another..still harmfull as can be but breaks u frreee from combing and cutting...

yes, backcombing can act like "methadone" i suppose... an interesting way of looking at it, SE. :D

but i don't see it as replacing one addiction with another... it's like nicotine patches, if you wanna look at it in addiction perspectives. it helps you step down from a lot of crazy attention to appearance, to less and less, until you reach the level you want.

although some of us do still want to "fit into society" a little bit, because we have things we came to this planet to accomplish, which include being at least somewhat "socially acceptable" lol. i know for myself, i want to stand out to the collective, to cause them to think about what they do and why, and is it really what they want to do. not to just say "fuck all of society," and kinda go off and forget about society's "rules" but to kinda be in the middle.

so the "middle of the road" backcombing worked for me. it's not hardcore natural, but it's also not fucked up waxy candlesticks. :)

and agreed. backcomb once. i did it more than once on some places, and it broke a lot of my hairs, and i've lost some dreads. :(
