Not bad. But I can find many 60's era songs that are better....but it's all taste and what you like, I'm not knocking it.
I think the point of the video isn't that every single modern recording is worse than all of the 60's era music in total. The point is the best selling, most popular modern music is worse than the most popular, best selling 60's era music. Maybe we should start a battle of the band thread.
That's a cool idea! Do you think anyone will listen to the music? I wish there were a way to limit it to thirty second intervals. Not to be a snot nosed brat, but I don't like to listen to entire videos most of the time.
You're a snot nosed brat. You post hour long techno mixes in Currently Listening. But you can't be bothered to listen to a 3 minute pop song yourself. And I'm convinced you're a girl.
that's true. But i don't expect many people listen to them. I like full albums. Singles are kinda weird. I dunno...
I open another session of hip forums in my browser and run the music (if it interests me) while I look at other stuff. But it does make it hard to concentrate on the music.
Don't get me wrong. I really like early Zep. I've seen Page and Plant together. But there are so many groups at least as good...... King Crimson. Hendrix. Jefferson Airplane. The Beatles. Eric Burdon. Dave Mason is very good. The Beach Boys have fantastic harmony. Simon and Garfunkel. Robert Fripp of King Crimson tooting his own horn.
Personally, I think Brian Wilson was the greatest songwriter ever. Not just those harmonies, but all those numerous instruments and complex arrangements all woven into something akin to pop rock, but in actuality was so much more. Their music is simply...mesmerizing. Good speakers make a world of difference though
Not that familiar with King Crimson but I would choose the song I linked over most anything done by the vast majority of the rest of these bands not named The Beatles or Jimi Hendrix, so yah I think it's definitely taste and as I mentioned in a prior post probably life experiences tied to songs as well. I'm not that familiar with Kiwanuka either, that's just a song I heard on streaming radio.
I agree with this and I have noticed that it is harder for me to get into new music now than when I was in my late teens/early twenties and life was a never ending adventure. And i've also noticed that while listening to a band for the first time on my drive to work or whatever, they may sound somewhat bland to me but the same band all of a sudden gives me goosebumps while listening to them on a road trip with a friend (just an example, any other sort of shared activity would fit too)
I think most modern chart music sucks, that being said I've managed to find quite a lot of non-chart music which I really like over the last 5 or 6 years or so.
yeah I was like that with Snow Patrol ! so all newer music dont necessarily suck ( just a lot of it )
they are touring with some of the original core members in the band for the first time in years. I saw it on the news. This is from their website >
