Really, it is. I don't believe in science because i've seen and experienced things that most, if not all scientists deemed as false. I don't want any asshole with a tube or a whatchimascope telling me what goes on inside my body when he doesn't even know me. It boggles my mind when I see so many people praising science when I know that what they're saying and teaching me is false.

If you don't "believe in science" then get off your computer because clearly it's not real.

Do you even know what science is?

Care to give some examples of: "i've seen and experienced things that most, if not all scientists deemed as false." ?

Ive seen loads of things science cant explain, thats why I love it so much. Science isnt about pretending you know everything its about find why things do what they do.

Like what? What have you "experienced" that "scientists" have deemed as false?

Shit you saw while trippin' doesn't count. ;)

I couldn't not take a look in this thread. It's a modern fucking classic. The move against science by intelligent design folk, divwits, the Pope and God knows who else all seems to stem from a feeling of discomfort with the idea that there are things going on within the realms of science which are far more interesting than you think your own life is. People who throw themselves away from science into the realms of the impossible are actually getting closer to science's true nature than those who accept tht everything works because of It Just Does and never question a thing.

But re: experiences, people used to call exploding marsh gas Will-o'-the-wisps. Now they know it's exploding marsh gas. So even if you've experienced something which you'd like to think science can't explain, it's probably at the very best something that science can't explain yet.

I have to say thats such an ignorant statement to say at your age. You friggen 15 years old, Stop assuming you know everything. Get off you ass and read some books and youll see that alot (not all, but were getting there) of the things happen in your body can be explained. Like what Maggie Suger said, "Shit you saw while trippin' doesn't count".

I'm not going to insult you, man, and I don't think it's very helpful for everyone else to bash on this guy just because his opinions are uninformed (really, they are, dude).

Science works. Why do most people in developed nations live to be 70 or 80 something nowadays? The fruits if scientific progess (medical, agricultural, etc).

It works because of the methodology- a hypothesis must be supported by evidence to be accepted, and there always needs to be a way to test those hypothesis. The scientific community is always testing new ideas, and re-testing old ones, to make sure that those ideas about how our world works is actually supported by the evidence we gather. It's really very objective, and it works.

Science is not an absolute. People working in various fields discover new additions to their existing knowledge bases regularly. It's all going towards understanding what makes us who we are, why we're here, what we should do while were using oxygen to sustain ourselves on this tangible planet. So, it was awfully judgemental to say that you don't believe in science based on the sole fact that sometimes it doesn't apply to your circumstances. Science is just a word--used to describe something utterly immense and undeniable--we're all human. But I feel like I have to apologize for everyone who automatically disregarded your opinion--this is a free speech forum, or so I was lead to believe, and I'm sure that you didn't post your thread so you could get beaten down.

I am interested in knowing exactly what's going on though...

Hell yeah! What good has science done us? We got a hole in the ozone layer and mass extinction, we all would have been better off if we had stayed hunter-gatherers. Well except me, I am happy now. But what good has science done for us lately except fix proablems it made. Science better save us in the long run.

  16. Gotta love it when the bleeding heart dude enters the thread with the "Lets not insult the idiot" talk. No offence, it just seems to be a constant.
