Ok, i've been browsing this site and this seems as good a place as any to ask. Ever since I can remember i've had a thin ridge of skin running down the base of my penis; It looks kind of like a scar of some sort. I've tried researching it and found nothing. I don't want to ask my parents because quite frankly it's embarrasing. Does anyone else have this or know what it might be? Any help would be appriciated.

It is called the rapthe, and we all have that seam, stemming from the time we were a fetus and became male. Don't sweat it.

It's spelled raphe. It's the seam from where your penis and scrotum fused together in utero.

MunaJadida - you are right - it is spelled raphe - I did a typo. But the seam is where the fetal labia fused together to form the penile shaft, and the seam continues through the scrotum and the area between the scrotum and the anus.

Don't believe these answers. You are probably from outer space, and they are after you. Otherwise, why not tell you so.
