saying goodbye to opie!!!

Everybody on monday I will be starting a suboxone program trying 1 more time to get clean. Ive tried numerous times and have always fell back in. Tomorrow I will be saying my fair well. I have some opana 20's and some roxi30's. I will be making a day out of them and having 1 last hoorah , chill out sunday and wake up monday and put my heart in this new life. Wish me luck I will need it. I have enjoyed this forum and will continue to check up on you guys. Its a new year, deuces.

Thanks for the support. It has been a pretty easy transition so far. The subs seem to take away the mental cravings just like methodone did for me at one time. As far as sexual disfunctions the oxi's and other drugs have killed my sex drive since i've been on them so im not sure if alots going to change their. I still worry about a life without sub's. When I quit the dome the mental craving's took over my head again and am scared that could happen again one day. Im also talking with a drug counselor so maybe that will help me learn to deal with that stuff. The sub's are all new to me so any advice or anything that you think I may need to know please let me know. Thanks for the support again.

 

Can you expect any withdrawals from Subs one you leap from them?

 

Suboxone is an opiate, with tougher withdrawal consequences than most recreational opiates, up there with Methadone. Dangerous stuff, good choice to switch to a worse drug, that doesn't get you high.

 

It does get you high. I don't know what type of Suboxone you all are using, but I take 4mg a day and it gets me high. Not hammered and nodding off intoxicated, but still high.

 

Not true....if you taper right and with the support of family it will be alot easier to come off than most recreational opiate that causes you to high and not function soberly. It will adjust you to a sober lifestyle. And a drug like oxy beats on your receptors and subs do not. So you brain chemistry will adjust over time to sobriety and the switch will be alot easier if you do the taper right and have support from counselors and family ect. ive seen it done and firmly believe that.

 

Do Subs help with pain while you are on them? Also, can Subs really be put in same category as Methadone?

The subs do seem to help with the pain but not as much as the roxis did but that was expected. I was only comparing the done to subs cause people take them both to get off opiates. However their totally different so I'm not sure how fair it is to compare the two. I did alot of research before getting on subs and have read if taking irresponsibly they can have a bad WD, but I can't imagine it being near as bad as the done. I truly believe when taking responsibly that I will be able to stay WD free but that's yet to be seen. I actually got the film formula and it does the job. As for them getting me "high", they defintly give me a "glow" thruout the day. I don't know if I'd call it being high but you could define it that way I suppose. I'm going to counsellong once a week and think that will help me adjust to a totally sober lifestyle 1 day. I'm grateful for the subs to give me a new chance at what I'm wanting out of life. Excellent post, I appreciate your insight. I have been tossing around the idea of subs for a little while and my major concern was if it was going to get me high, then maybe it would be just as addicting as Oxycodone, but it appears to not have some of the same side affects. The only question I think I have left is this: Do you have to be IN withdrawals to start on Subs?

 

I mean they get me high, but I haven't been taking obscene amounts of oxycodone every day. But as far as it making you clean from opiates... it still is an opiate, it just doesn't give the high to the addict. As for it being easier on the receptors than Oxy, maybe, I have no idea, I was being a jackass. I'm sure it's not as bad as Methadone though. I would imagine even if they don't get someone high, they can still help with pain.

 

Suboxone is extremely effective for pain. It's ceiling dose is still the equivalent of something like 160mg Oxycodone!

 

That's also because Oxy sucks.

 

I would like to say, and reveal my hypocrisy, that I take almost 4 mg of Suboxone everyday. IT gets me high, real high. Nodding high, a lot of the times.

 

Bottlefed yes u do have to be WDing before u take subs. They say u will get sick and go into immediate WD if the opiates are still in ur system. I hah done like 300mg on my last day on roxis and I took the subs a little esrlier then my doc suggested because I was WDing and didn't like it. I only waited 22hrs and they worked fine. I had railed the roxis and believe that cuts the life of them probably about in half. I hear they can be a miracle drug when taken properly. If you do decide to do it and clean up I wish u the best with that. If u have any questions feel free to ask.
