I'm a really big Savage Garden fan...and I know they aren't together any more...but I was wondering if there were other fans of them around (and I mean those who can look beyond "I Knew I Loved You", which is the worst song they did...I mean, its alright but its kind of annoying...)
I used to love them! I loved Truly Madly Deeply. It was really pretty, but Darren's voice sounded kind of scary. I loved it. Do you know what I mean? Probably not. I always thought "the other guy" was cuter, though. He wasn't at first, but he matured nicely. I hated Darren's solo cd. A friend of mine bought it... it was terrible. I didn't think he'd go for that shallow pop stuff. Oh, well. We'll just pretend it never happened.
I love Savage Garden too! I was also a little weary about his solo, but I heard his new single from his upcoming album and I think he's sorta realised that the last allbum wasn't him. He sorta makes fun of fame and stuff in the song. I thought it was kinda funny. http://www.darrenhayesnet.com/lyrics.html theres a link to the lyrics if anyones interested.
Is "I Knew I Loved You" the one that sounds like it's by Take That?? Can't stand it! I like "I don't know you anymore", "You can still be free" And of course "The moon and back"
I don't really like "Pop!ular" too much...its catchy...and I get the joke he's making... "Darkness" and "Unlovable" are the other two from the new album that I read the lyrics to and I love them... I agree with you all...I hated Spin...it really sucked.... My favourite SG songs are: "Crash and Burn", "Violet", "I Don't Care", "Love Can Move You", "The Fire Inside the Man", "Affirmation", and "A Thousand Words"...
That's indeed good to know. I'm not really a fan of electronic-y music...but I'm being open minded...because I have been looking forward to new music and I love the words to the songs I've seen...
Savage Garden are actually one of the only "pop" bands I enjoy listening to, but it's more of a nostalgia thing for me... Yet I still think that "Afirmation" is a relatively good song.
oh my god i havent listened to savage garden sense i was like 12 or 13... lol yea they do suck though.
Truly Madly Deeply is a nice song, even though music is so silly, I just can't stand it and the same goes for the vocals... I don't like other songs too much, though (it's only Truly Madly Deeply that I like actually - due to its lyrics which are quite shallow but cute, lol) Love, Borut
lol i used to LOVE savage garden when i was about 13 or 14, still like them now but its more cause the songs remind me of high school and my lovely friends i dont get to see anymore. Musically they are a bit shite, but ya know after a few drinks they sound ok, and i did see them live and to be fair to the guys they did put on a pretty decent show, lol.
Yes, they kinda are...the latter songs on the debute are much deeper... and also the old B-Sides are much deeper as well. I realise that a lot of you don' t like Savage Garden because of their more popular songs...but they are really good...and from a girl who usually doesn't listen to much outside of 1975, that's saying something...
whats that song.. "i want to stand with you on a mountain, i wanna bath with you in the sea, i wanna lay like this forever until the sky falls down on me"? thats all i remember ... i like that song hehe peace chickens
