    Hey Ya'll
I'm freaking out, I have SATs this Saturday and it's my first time ever taking them. If I get a 1000 or higher I can get into this college I've been wanting to go to forever! Has anyone taken them already? Any tips? How long will it take? Any advice would be great! Thanks!

The SAT is a timed test that takes approximately 3 hours (plus an hour or so of instruction). It wasn't that hard for me, I didn't take any prep course and got a 1200 the first time. Keep in mind, however, that you can take the SATs as many times as you want (or at least as many times as they offer it in your area) so if you don't make a 1000 this time you can always try again at a later date. You should also look into prep-courses they offer that can help you out if you don't make it this time. You should get your results 4-6 weeks after you take your test.

Dude calm down... I'm taking them the same time you are for the third time. Just relax, get some sleep, eat a good breakfast, and REMEMBER: it's better to skip answers if you have absolutely no clue what the answer is. If you can elimate a few, I'd guess. Just remember that while you lose a fraction of a point for every answer you get wrong, you neither gain nor lose points of you leave it be.

We don't have SATs (at least not that kind) over here. Plenty of similar tests though, so I feel your pain.

    Just take it slow
Do whatever you need to help get you through (a good luck charm perhaps)
Check you have everything you need for the test, you can never have enough spare pens.
Take plenty of time to read the questions

    Good luck and blessings

all good advice: also, study up on your cursive because you'll feel retarded if you can't write out the "i promise i won't cheat" statement in cursive, which you will have to do. but for real--if you know the shit, you know it. just relax; it's not any worse than PSATs. i raised from my PSATs by just going through senior year. peace, and good luck,

A lot of people I know don't even take their PSATs... lmao. Yay... I have OLSATs... I wish Otis Lennon would burn in hell. I hate taking proficiency tests every year.

That's ironic Kate, I also got a 1200 my first time without any prep at all. I just took it again today, didn't find it to be too hard...we shalt wait and see.

I do not see how someone of at least some intelligence can get less than 1000 on the SATs...

    Panicing won't help anyone...

today's test was rather easy...Math was a peice of cake, and the verbal passages were extremely clear...

No relation to John. He's just a dude that conjured up this great thing known as OLSAT tests.
