Hi , browsing around I came to this site. I am doing research for a book I am writing. A couple of chapters take place at San Francisco 1967. I am looking for information about SF in that time, how it was to live there and what went on. Do you still remember what things looked like and how life was? Let me know, share with me that time. Am looking forward to all the exciting hippie experiences. Love and peace
Ahh, another writer; Cinnamom of the hippiestead is a writer, and 60's history is the only historical timepoint which she/me knows well. I wasn't in S.F. (never even been to Cali despite 13 years of living in a converted school bus); but I can give you a real good idea of what was going on politically speaking and the general progression of the flower child movement. I can also direct you to much written material of the subject, I've read many things that have been long forgotten. As this is my family's daily 'welcoming time', I don't often get back to the intro threads once we've posted, so it's best to private message the hippiestead. The 'hippie babble' thread may be of interest, as many SF/Berkley kids/folks used many dialects of the 'language'. Welcome to the neighborhood! There's plenty of info within HipForums, have fun.
Hi Katchoo, sounds very interesting. I would like to know when its release date is as I would be very interested in reading it. You will probably get some info here, but more than likely you will have to research and get names and emails of some of the people that lived there. I can't recall where I found a site that had names and emails but it's here, you just have to hunt for it. Much luck on your book and enjoy the site.
Thanks for the welcome and tips, no release date yet. I just finished like 1/4 of the book, so still a long way to go. I hope to have the first draft done end of this year. I enjoy the fact that I'm making a dream come true, it is so much fun to create your own world (with of course some facts in there too). I'll keep on looking on the net for references. good vibes to you all from Holland
