I have been listening to the LP Involution featuring Sam Rivers, and I just want to make sure that I am not missing something. A lot of people really rave about Sam Rivers and how hard his style is, but to me, it really didn't seem that hard or edgy. It doesn't really sound like a revolution in Free Jazz, but just a different way of doing the old theme, solo, theme sort of thing. I would like to be convinced otherwise though.
