If you don't live in mexico, chances are it's not Salvia Divinorum. There are tons of other types of salvia that grow all over the world though, but only Divinorum has the psychoactive properties of Salvinorin A.

Yes sir, salvia means sage. Sage is everywhere.

I believe divinorum only grows in the mountains of Oaxaca.

Ya theres a very small area in Mexico where Salvia Divinorum grows.
There is NO way the stuff in the woods near your house is Salvia Divinorum, unless it was planted there, which is highly unlikely.

Is there any type of test I can do to prove that it really isn't or is salvia?

While I wouldn't recommend smoking plants which are unknown to you, you can always compare pictures and the general structure of Divinorum to whatever is growing in your yard. Salvia Divinorum is a pretty distinct plant ya know!

Well heres the way to see if its really salvia. The stems should be square, plainly square.
