I'd have to say Hurt by Nine inch Nails just the overall tone and despare in Trent Reznors vocals cant help but make me feel what hes going through
The Freshman by Verve Pipe. i played this song a thousand times when my friend died in december When I was young and knew everything And she a punk who rarely ever took advice Now Im guilt stricken, Sobbing with my head on the floor Stop a babys breath and a shoe full of rice I cant be held responsible Cause she was touching her face I wont be held responsible She fell in love in the first place For the life of me I cannot remember What made us think that we were wise and Wed never comprimise For the life of me cannot believe We?d ever die for these sins We were merely freshman My best friend took a weeks Vacation to forget her His girl took a weeks worth of Valium and slept Now hes guilt stricken sobbing with his Head on the floor Thinks about her now and how he never really Wept he says Weve tried to wash our hands of all of this We never talk of our lacking relationships And how were guilt stricken sobbing with our Heads on the floor We fell through the ice when we tried not to Slip, wed say
I like leonard cohens version the best, and then jeff buckleys. there are tons of other people who did it too.
blackbird by the beatles is one of the most obscurely connective songs to me. It was the first song id ever actively listened for the first time while stoned too.
there are many songs in this class.. led zeppelin - tangerine...; king crimson - fallen angel, starless, epitaph...; ben harper - widow of a living man, alone, the drugs don't work, woman in you...; beck - everybody's gotta learn sometime; coldplay - we never change; janis...janis...janis... .....
there are many songs, that i hear and start to cry....For example....Guns and Roses "Don't cry" Beatles "In my life" or sometimes "Imagine"....These only two songs from Beatles makes me cry....Also "Mad world"....Oh and one song from Armagedon " I don't wanna miss a thing", really very sad.....
Im going to have to say Simon and Garfunkel "He was my Brother" and of course their Bridge over Troubled Water.. But I also find, 7'oclock News/silent night, sad because I just do And also their, "Save the Life of my Child"
Interesting. S&G is my happy music If I'm in a bad mood, I crank up "The Big Bright Green Pleasure Machine". As for the saddest song, I think I'd have to go with "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin. "Last Kiss" is also pretty sad. (I can't remember the original artist, I know Pearl Jam did a cover of it) Alex
