Saddam Hussein 'executed in Iraq'

Saddam was hanged just over an hour ago.

Is this really going to change one goddamn thing other than make the Iraqis even more pissed and agitated than they already were. I don't care what you do, death by hanging is a cruel way to go...death by anything is a bad scene. And why anybody hang Hussein and give him the satisfaction of a cop-out? I'm sure if Hitler didn't kill himself and whoever was there for the Allies caught him, they wouldn't killed him right away, they would've tortured him real slow-like. I just don't think Hussein getting hung is a good thing.

 

i agree with the precariousness of the situation.

i also don't agree with execution/death penalty, no matter how awful the crime; there are far more productive punishments.

 

i was gonna wish everyone a happy peacefull new year soon but somehow i dont think it will be now ............this world sucks

they executed him to coincide with the biggest muslim festival of the year - the west did it to promote trouble - the west cannot be now seen as anything but an aggressive and - out of control empire

I would urge anyone with any sense to demonstrate in the capital cities to demonstrate with force against this barbaric dictatorship of the USA and Britain

Things are unraveling so quickly in Iraq that the U.S. wanted to get in this last PR event while it still had the chance. They couldn't even stand the chance of waiting until two days before Bush's SOTU speech.

Rhumsfeld needs to go on trial not just for this but because of the 12,000.000 deaths in Africa he caused by refusing to give them drugs they needed - when he was the head of the pharmaceutical cartel

Even if it was a bloody 3 year old African kid surgecally altered to look like Saddam it wouldn't make a single difference. It is all as symbolic as shit.

I would have liked to see Saddam not die though... death is too easy, I would rather see him working 20 hours a day in a lovely place such as Guantanamo or any other instuitution, or put in shackles in the village square midevil style... fed just enough to survive, with Iraquis throwing shit, carrots, and goats at him.

 

Perhaps that's a fate we could dream of seeing happen to Bush and his cabinet.
