I'm more sad that winters coming to an end... Fall/winter is my favourite time of the year, I love the cold, the dead trees, leaves on the ground, and rain is the best... I also love the snow, although it never snows here... It snowed once this year, and it melted the next say...

Summer is my least favourite season...

Bad luck happening in my neck of the woods.

 

i get s.a.d. because of the lack of winter here. We had freezing rain the other day and thats the closest i'll get to a real winter. It was 70 degrees last weekend. Summers here are brutal. I would love to experience a real winter

 

you want a good taste of winter, visit colorado in the "spring'

years ago, when i was a young whippersnapper in high school still, i went to sleep (March 2003) and woke up to about 3 feet of snow. heavy, wet snow. normally colorado gets a drier blowing snow, doesnt make for good snowballs or snowmen, (or snowballs on snowmen) but the skiers like it.

that was a particularly interesting weather pattern, the storm moved east to west. the eastern face of the rockies is steep, whereas the west slope, well, slopes. elevation increases more gradually on that side. so weather usually glides uphill, then sort of shoots out over the front range and lands I-25 or east. usually. this storm came racing up and then the rockies stopped it cold. ha. cold.

there was also a storm that caused a lot of wind damage. it came from the north east, hit the mountains at an angle, and slid south along them, trying really hard to make tornadoes. i was watching live weather trackers and watched vortices try and fail to fully form. 'straight line winds' they called it.

i didnt really mean to go on and on about colorado weather. i dont get SAD. i feel spring coming, lifes rhythm, no SAD.
