Theres two different sides of christianity....

    1. Its not real

    2. Its real

There is NO black and white.....sorry bout that but thats Gospel
If it is not real then its the biggest scam in the world....coz there are a load of christians out there. And if this is your view.....run....run away from this...never explore the subject again...never even talk about it. If your view is....its real....carry on....love God and enter heaven and its glory...

One day we will be judged...do you wana be the one who thought God wasnt real and realise you made a big mistake?

When i am judged i will be proud to have walked with God....

If u are in between....explore it.....learn....ask questions...NO QUESTION IS STUPID!!!!

This kind of thinking demonstrates to me that Christianity is based on fear.

But pride is one of the seven deadly sins!

I think your post reflects a lot of confusion.

And when I stand in front of the judge, I will bow and say "Gentlemen, Ladies, I was wrong." And I shall be happy to burn in hell for the rest of eternity. Until then, I'll stay and athiest, thank you.

haha, exactly, my response would be similar to freakyjoeman

i mean, fair do's thinking that and all - it's a belief and feel free to believe that

but when you say "but really God is powerful so yeh there are elements of fear but good fear...nice to kno that i have a power for me as aposed to against me.
    "

    - how possibly, is thinking that "if you dare think any other way then you will go to hell" a good kind of fear? i mean, sure, if you believe it then it is a good fear, but to be honest it's not a fear coz you know and have that assurance that you're going to heaven. Growing up, my parents brainwashed me into Christianity and coming out of that safety barrier, security blanket, call it what you wish, and thinking that perhaps it wasnt true, that was the scariest thing i've ever done in my life. I'm over it now, but back then, it was so scary. Not at all a "good fear". It was Christianity's way of keeping you in line.

Nope? What do you mean, nope? I have stated my opinion; what I see to be the truth.

Funny that you have just told peace_sells:
"it's cool to have you opinon and all....but it definately isn't okay to say mine is wrong..."

So it 'definitely isn't okay' for somebody to say your opinion is wrong, but it definitely is ok for you to respond to somebodies opinion with 'nope'...

-Back to the topic of fear:

as put by George H. Smith,

"A rule is a sanctioned principle of action. A sanction is a physical or psychological means of coercion or intimidation used for the purpose of motivating obedience to a principle of action.

Consider traffic laws. If a posted speed limit did not carry the threat of enforcement by the police, it would not function as a rule. The threat of punishment for disobedience, is the sanction of the rule.

Religion has traditionally appealed to the will of god as a justification for it's moral principles.
To the quesion, 'Why should I do x?' religion has answered,
'Because it is the will of god.'
To further the question, 'Why should I obey the will of god?' religion has answered,
'Because he will reward or punish you accordingly, either in this life or in an afterlife.'

The power of a supernatural being has thus served as a moral sanction. One obeys a principle, not because one desires it's casual result, but because one fears its sanction- in this case, the wrath of god.

The oldest and crudest form of a rule sanction is the use or threat of physical force. This is manifested in Christianity by the doctrine of hell."

awwww there there *hugs*I love you roly don't be upset. Where's your spiritual kinsmenship, Satanist to Christian? I don't think anyone here is actually upset, just you, you seem a little sensitive. Just chill out man, smoke some herb or something! We don't mean to be "rude". We are just challenging your beliefs. You should think of it like a test or something. Perhaps you should keep an open mind to other people's beliefs too, try to see their point of view. Everyone believes what they think is true. Try to step away from that. Challenge everything and if what you believe still seems right at least you have seen all the options you can, to declare that. If you run away from us then we have won the battle, surely that's not the right attitude to have?

hey I didnt see any "mine is wrong" words at all in what I said. I even told you to feel free to believe in what you want and asked you a question which you have just put up all defense for where it was not needed. If you could answer it, it would be appreciated :) it's just a simple question after all. It makes me think you can't answer it if you back away like that.

I ask my questions because I dont understand WHY you believe them because it makes no sense to me. I am here to challenge your belief and if your answers are good enough you will be rewarded for conversion, you know, be praised and everything by your fellow Christian friends. I thought that was one of the main aims anyway, "to convert", it wins prizes in heaven. Strangely enough no one has converted me yet :( I almost feel saddened - guess I'll have to stick with what makes sense the most.

But are you trying to get others to run with fear?

    posted by roly:

    That is FEAR my friend.

Maybe you should try to encourage others spiritually with a positively driven message, instead of inciting fear with imaginary punishment. This could do alot for the way others perceive the quality of your beliefs/view/opinion.

The judgement is your own responsibility. You will judge yourself for all the negative things you have said against God and the negative emotions you have felt against God after you realize the good that God has done for you while you have not acknowledged the presence of one who has cared so deeply for you. Everyone experiences judgement day and it is always a good thing because it opens your eyes to a much more wonderful reality that you could not grasp without real knowledge of God. Don't worry though- God just wants you to know that God is there so that you can truly know what love is, and after you get over the actions you have taken that you feel guilt about you will look at the world through brand new eyes.

    Kharakov,

I feel that if judgement exists, each individual will judge themselves. This seems to be similar to what you have described.

I would like to know exactly what you mean by 'God' when you say-

"You will judge yourself for all the negative things you have said against God and the negative emotions you have felt against God after you realize the good that God has done for you while you have not acknowledged the presence of one who has cared so deeply for you."
