Have you ever been camping? Do you enjoy it?

Do you go to commercial campsites, or find places tucked away in the middle of nowhere to camp in?

Camping is fun, i'll go camping anywhere.

I love to camp. I like to camp out in the woods in remote places. but I have a few regular spots that aren't so hidden.

I like camping better than hotels. I feel good gather wood and cooking things I catch rather than call room service. Maybe it's just me, but I enjoy it 10x better than sleeping anywhere else.

Camping is pretty cool, especially in higher altitudes. I camped out in Montana a couple of times, and had the time of my life.

My past experiences with camping (grade school Girl Scouts) were less than desirable. I have been turned off to the idea since.

I love camping. I generally only go to remote places that aren't commercialized. My favorite places are on the Green River Resevoir and the Waterbury Resevoir here in Vermont. Both places require a canoe to get to the camp site.

    I'm pretty into camping.

I've camped in most of the western states of the US, as well as Isle Royale in Michigan, Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, Red River gorge in Kentucky.

I generally prefer backcountry camping, getting off on your own and finding the best spot, but I've had fun in more commercial sites as well.

I've had some pretty miserable nights too, for instance once at Devil's Tower in Wyoming thunderstorm after thunderstaorm came through all night and our tent proved not to be very waterproof...all night the cold water was encroaching more and more until there was no way to stay dry....what a terrible time that was.

I love to go camping. I go at least once a summer. And not to those commercialised sites, but out smack dab in the middle of the woods, roughing it. I usually go to places where i can fish and eat them.

I remember once, I was camping with these girls. They were maybe 2 years older than me. This was just last summer. And they asked me where the bathroom was, they needed a shower. I had a towel on my head because I had just bathed in the river. Well, when I told them that, their eyes got really wide. They then drove 20 miles out of the way to shower at one of the public sites. crazy....it's just easier to bathe in the river, in my opinion....:D

I like camping for a day or maybe two, but if I can't shower, I'm out pretty fast.

part of the joy of camping is getting dirty and not worrying about it...growing a beard and not having to shave it, pissing down your leg and simply laughing it off.

Of course having external sex organs also helps, once again I'm wishing I didn't cut mine off with a steak knife the other night.

I like being clean... I'm not going for a swim just because I'm too 'rough' to go back home when I start to smell bad.

What are you going to do camping for more then two days anyway, theres only so much nature one can take in without being bored.

It's nice to get away though... maybe I'm being to girly. [IMG]

Seamonster, I'm proud that you've decided to pursue your carrer as a monk, although I think just pretending not to be intrested in sex might have been easier.

    Then again...

    Psychedelic drugs ;)

My best camping experience was in southern Utah....we hiked so far in that it took days just to get out...it was cool though, no tents necessary with all of the rock overhangs.

AMEN! Man, you get out in the woods, away from the wondering eyes of the police....and you toke it up...or drop some acid...do anything...and being in such a peaceful place, it's always the best feeling ever....

One time, I was so completely stoned out of my mind, that I wandered away from my group, stripped off all my clothing, sat in the woods talking to a tree and a squirrel and was convinced that I had found God...what a trip that was...

    Seriously though....try it sometime....it's wonderful

I haven't been camping in a long time because I have absolutely no time for it since I work and go to school. But I used to go on week long backpacking trips every summer out in the middle of nowhere. Someday I hope to do that again.

I personally feel completely satisfied with weeks of nature and NO drugs. Nature doesn't needs anything to make it better, it is enough on its own.

Drugs are always important Christine, are you aware that birds are speed freaks, fish are heroin addicts, and trees take quaaludes?

Seriously though, it does make nature better..practically the only time taking drugs is really worth it...not absolutely essential, but I'm not going camping without some whiskey at least!
