Yeah, but cancelling the show? Punish Roseanne herself somehow. But cancel the show and everyone else connected to it? You know this is just going to turn political - would have just got a slap on the wrist, show wouldnt have gotten cancelled if it was more pro democrats. 18 million viewers, some other network that doesnt give a shit will probably just pic it up anyway
Roseanne IS the show, so if you fire her, what's the point of the show? I think what she said was deplorable and mean spirited.
you are a gorilla acting like a fish....you actually believe those numbers?....complete bullshit....skewed statistics...i'd stake dough on it
I laughed two times watching this new show. Once when she and Dan were swapping medications like baseball cards or something; and the other time when she said she was going out to wait in the driveway for Dan to get back from the drugstore with her pain pills. Other than that, I couldn't find anything that made me laugh.
The reboot sucked anyways. Being politically topical works when it is subtly worked in as a backdrop against the every day dramas of the characters, but Roseanne wasnt. The first episode was funny but it was just overkill after that. The election fall out, the transgender grandson, the Yemen refugee that made the character Roseanne (but clearly not the real person) realize being a vile bigot is stupid...what else...DJ and his PTSD, Roseanne's opiate addiction, Roseanne being on food stamps, their lack of insurance and using FEMA funds to pay for surgery, Dan's hiring illegal immigrants. And I missed a few episodes too so who knows what else (Just a side note, some of these plot developments make it confusing to figure out the appeal to conservatives anyways. Roseanne.is.on.the.government.dole. and shares her benefits with refugees) And the real Roseanne is a racist twat, so there's that too
the show always sucked never seen any of the "reboot" myself but I still support her right to free speech even if i don't like her
I think that it's not a matter of violating her free speech rights. If your employer doesn't like what you're saying in social media, because it's ultimately a reflection on them or could be considered a reflection on them, then they can fire you, and it has nothing to do with free speech. That's all that happened here. People are tweeting about how it's violating free speech, but it isn't. We're all free to publicly say anything we like, but our employer is also free to fire us if they think it's going to create a backlash on them.
I'm sure it's a given...if celebs say things that violate the code of ethics of a network, they'll be fired. In her case, they realized that since Roseanne is who the show is built around, canceling the show made sense. I'm speculating, but that's my guess.
I was at a wilderness program with one of her kids; not her television kids though. Her real life kids. Be darned if I can remember her name. I looked up Rosanne's kids on google and looked at their pictures. The girl I was at camp with was heavier looking than any of her kids look now. If I had to guess at remembering I'd say it was Jennifer Pentland, but I'm not even 50% sure because this was so long ago (1995?).
The funniest of the new epi.. Dan went to get the copper pipes out the abandoned house, but they were gone, so he took the stair climber. Beverly had VD. which is a common thing among seniors btw. When they steal the dog from the kennel. Darleens kid getting rinsed in the sink. Her hiding the pills all over the house and Dan confronting her. not so funny but serious. Next episode will include a birthday party for the black child, where they sing the song: Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, You look like a monkey and smell like one too.. jab jab, uppercut..
Those are ancient statistics in this modern age. I see people can have themselves judged for bias on that site, what a hoot! What a way to stir people up even further.
yeah i didnt feel like wasting more time trying to find the newest statistics heres some fresher ones Walt Disney Co: Total Contributions | OpenSecrets
She was too real, and most notably too defensive of the president for the dissenters. They were vigilantly watching for an opportunity and pounced. The comment was blown out of proportion and vilified to further the agenda. Common practice on both ends of the spectrum these days. Tolerance has become a thing of the past. Anything anyone says is held against them with a vengeance. Opinions run strong and opposing ones are met with violent opposition, not curiosity. This attitude is promoting division, not unity. Sad.
too real...i think the opposite....she hasn't seen reality in 35 years....fucking disgusting racist has-been....dan is the same......has-been.....his last movie he was shit in
