I love sooo much of his stuff, never gotten' bored of his music

I gotta find a good pic of his old Fender, aw man, now there was a guitar that worked hard for it's money

 

ha! hell yeah, that ol fender, that's awesome!

 

Yeah, Rory G was man with SOME mojo. His touch was exquisite, a quality that today's technique and gear obsessed guitarists could learn from.


I got an old 65 stratocaster, only a little younger than Rory's, and it's a truly fabulous blues guitar. I played 'As the Crow Flies' just last night, and plenty people knew Rory had done a blinding version of that classic song.

A bluesman sadly missed.

Hes sooo amazin. I love all his songs sooooooo much. Im so glad my dad got me into him.

 

yeah he's the best, i love the people who had their rory lp's in the basement where i needed to hide for big trouble and gave me the oppertunity to take rory with me.

 

Hmmmmm. Ok, little Miss Blues-Shoes, tell me; what is it YOU like about Rory Gallagher? After all, there are many, many guitarists around, past and present who have some degree of virtuosity.

okay, i like his sound, that typical rory sound, i like his voice, he somehow seems to be able to bring the message, something eric clapton can't seem to do to me.
the way he makes you feel, is different from song to song. i once tried to explain it on beatleterry's gallery.

when rory starts that: well did you ever...
on bullfrog blues it feels like this big energy goes from my feet to my head and explodes when he hits that guitar like a big blues orgasm

one of the best bluesmen ever check out the live at rockpalast dvd for anyone who is still a non beleiver. saw him live once in the late 80s it was my first blues gig and ive been a convert ever since. one of my friends won a competition to jam with him and brought me along, it was amazing far better than any of the heavy metal id been listening to up to that point. sometimes its good to be irish.

 

Rory is a great musician! Liked him ever since I heard Taste.

His live albums are what he's all about.
