certainly is quite interesting. Proof that the media is run and controlled by the pigs in power, on both sides. Its becoming a dictatorship. Our rights and freedoms are being taken away, we're constantly monitored and watched and our privacy compleated breached and raped and now they hide the facts from us to keep us from saving our asses. They don't want us to know about Ron paul. They don't want us to know. they don't want us to think.
    THE BLUE MEANIES ARE COMING!!

    that was really amazing.
    and horrible
but im glad that you look back on it for making you stronger. thats a great thing to be able to do, take something bad and turn it in to something good. too many people aren't willing to do that.

I'm in Europe now-and people here ask me who I would/will vote for in the presidential election-Cinton, Obama, or McCain-I tell them that I would never even consider voting for anybody but Ron Paul. They say, "who's Ron Paul-we've never heard of him" Exactly, and that's precisely the way the media and the Republican Party wants it!

Then I tell them that Ron Paul is the only candidate that's really against the war, against US intervention in other countries' affairs, the 'war on drugs', and that he's extremely honest and consistent-and they say, "wow, that sounds like someone we'd like to see as president of the US". And that's precisely why the media, but particularly the powers that control the two major political parties, will do everything they can to prevent that from ever happening.

And Spookytheferret, you're right-the US is quickly becoming a fascist country-and I'm sorry to say that that's one of the reasons I left.

As far as personal freedoms go, the government is breathing down your neck a lot less here than in the US. No drug tests to get a job (or keep one) much less government interference in your personal and family life, much fewer police (and the police do a lot less than in the US-in general they just leave people alone unless there's some major reason not to). It's just a lot more of a laid back environment here than in the States.

There is a lot of bureacracy here, (I'm in Poland, btw) and a lot fewer of some kinds of consumer goods than in the US-the medical care (the public system, that is) is much worse than in the US.

But one good thing is that most Europeans (especially in this part of Europe) have developed a healthy distrust of the government, especially the police, because of the oppression that they have suffered, even in the recent past. If Americans had any brains, they'd feel that way about their government and police, too. The only programs on TV here about how the police are going to protect you and solve all your problems are American shows translated into Polish.

The police here mainly respond to major crimes, which is why there are so much fewer of them. So much of the government efforts in the US are directed toward regulating your private lives, not protecting you from real crime-and that was something I had simply had enough of.

So, there's good and bad everywhere, but in general I'm much happier here than in the US-I came here for love, I've started a new family, and I'm here to stay.

Any country that outlaws love, a plant, and/or doing what you want with your body DEFINATELY has some problems.

    Its ridiculous.
Its illegal to use substances for you own body.
A plant is illegal. What's worse, it has such potential yet people still actually believe its deadly and addictive.
War is the economy. war is money.
superficiality is in. conforimity is strived for.
While other countries struggle with famine and starvation, American people are dying from eating too many Happy Meals.
The media lies to us, the government lies to us, our leaders lie to us, our president lies to us, our politicans lie to us.
We're all trapped, being monitored and controlled.
Freedom is a delusion... sure, you're free... as long as you agree with Big Brother.

It is a sad fact that the less well known candidates are somewhat ignored.
But, the fact I have heard of him (I'm In the UK) means that his message must be getting out.
Ron Paul has done well to raise his profile.
Has he any possiblility of winning? Nope (along with any other people whos initials do not begin wit BO or JM) .

They are not 'hiding' the facts.
Just have decided not to bother covering him anymore.

There are many things we all talk about at the loss of other things.
We all decide to miss things out for our own convenience (not always unintentionaly) .

All the article is, is publicity for Ron Paul *chuckle*. Well done.

Who is this Jerry Day anyway? lol

It depends on the country, really. I wouldn't say that about the UK, which is in a lot of ways further down the toilet when it comes to an Orwellian police state with cameras everywhere.

Well, it definitely depends on the country, and I agree that the UK is developing a police state pretty quickly. The good thing about this part of Europe is that the people have had so many bad experiences with Fascism and Communism that they have an inherent distrust of the police. Hope it stays that way.

It can be pretty bureaucratic here at times, but the US is a much, much more legalistic and restrictive place to live.

I asked a family member of mine that resides in San Francisco who she was going to vote for? She said Obama. I asked her what she thought of Ron Paul and she said 'nobody knows about him and he hasnt a chance at winning so why would I vote for him? Besides everyone down here is voting Obama. I need to vote for someone that has a chance so my vote counts.'
I couldn't fuckin believe my ears. I was very dissapionted in her lack of thought.
