Does anyone know how good his show is?? anyone goin to the show in Nashville at the Ryman? just seein if anyone wants to party after the show
YOU are dumb . how ever I HAVE NOT heard Plant sing in years but i do remember he could no longer scream like he used to "another words he had lost lots of his vocal cord power" but to miss the chance of seen in a Rock legend would be dumb. and 1 of the biggest.
i dont plan on missing it i have the tickets and the show is sold out so HAHHAHAHAHAHAH ill post how much fun i have when i get back.
lisen punk i went to concert when black sabbath was $6.50 to get in and seen more concerts than you well ever have . never the less enjoy the concert. sneak a camera in if you can "digital" and post the son of bitch picture here.
the ryman is an awesome venue! Never seen Robert Plant, but I wouldn't pass up an opportunity if it came up!! Definatly post how good the show was!
i hate people who bash on plants voice now, especially if they NEVER seen him. He is still amazing, his solo stuff isnt even close to zeppelins, why would we want to scream? Yes some songs involve it, but in other words...you wont be dissapointed
NO BASH he simply dont have the voice that at 1 time made him the greatest . This have happen to many other "nothing new" Billy Idol cant sing either any more his vocals are just not there any more and hes much younger than Plant. considering this Robert Plant voice did actually lasted a very long time many others were not so lucky. very few others have retain the voice at much older age but they are few. but then they never sing or scream as high as Plant does .I DONT buy any new records from older still living existing rock star so i dont know much here. but plants was losing his voice in mid 80s , Alice cooper lost his. Ozzy did quite well . Neil Young voice lasted a long time. The Who singer did also loose a lot in late 90s. i saw this in the last live concert. Paul Mc does well but he was never a intense singer. the other ones are dead so why bother to mention them. im sure many of the older metal group have suffer similar lost. Metallica singer does well still but he is still rather young. Any one here who have heard the old bands and still knows some of them that can sing just like they used too please mention them here. Im talking about quality not the fact that they can still sing after 20 30 or 40 years later = big difrence .
god forbid a singer/performer continues on beyond what some people expect... god forbid they change, evolve, grow. sure the voice changes. So does the performance. I do agree a lot of nostalgia heads go for one song, one sound that happened long ago, but NO reason to call names. that's a mod warning.
evolve to what a god dam singer shoking to death trying to sing thats exactly how they sound once they start loosing the voice got nothing to do with mature this or mature that.
Also many other singer have retain theyr voice until they kick the bucket. steve nicks is doing well. i have not heard Neil Diamond so im in the dark there. Tom Jones was one of those that manage to hold on to his strong voice.
I know what you mean. I was disappointed the last time I saw Peter, Paul and Mary. But Plant has been able to a) modify the key and performance to a range he still has and b) has the tech to do the sustain his pipes can't.
Just bought Mighty Rearranger one of his greatest solo Albums i think What do you all think about his new Album?
give IT up the best thing that could had happen to Robert Plant was death before LED zep BROKE UP. At least we could had said what if he had lived longer like Jim Morrison or Jimi Hendrix . Only 1 song i like by plant after led broke up 0s and the video did not make much sense. and he sounded more gay in that song than Freddy Mercury of Queen. not that it matter , but i kind wonder about Plant sometimes.http://launch.yahoo.com/ar-260766-videos--Robert-Plant the gayish song is The Big Log .
1 thing Plant can still do is play 1 mean Harmonica. when i hear him play the harmonica i go back to early 70s again.
Yeah, I agree pretty much. Sarah Brightman is an Opera Diva who says she enjoys belting out Offspring tunes (Original Prankster) or some other hard stuff when she's not busy being lowered from the ceiling of an auditorium to celestially harmonize with Andre Boccelli; But she says not to the harm of that terrific set of lungs. I suppose Robert Plant did have an incredible range in his heyday. I always thought the first Album was revolutionary in it's echoed, outer space reverb of electrified metal that struck a chord with me when others who followed suit did not. And he fit the shoe & wore it well. It's always a rush to crank Led Zepplin 1 up all the way. But I also felt it was downhill from there. They did 29 Palms or some number on TV that seemed like that, but I dunno. I also suffered from one too many 'Oh Rosie's" in my screaming days, got nodules on my vocal chords that made me get hoarse & had to go to therapy & doctor designated voice lessons to learn how to scream correctly. From the Diaphragm, not from the throat. Well, how long do drag slicks last a drag racer doing the quarter mile? I heard they are like $35,000 a set & they last one race. I could be wrong, but my point is, the enduring vocalists know that their longevity depends on not losing their voice. They would be like a person trying to get as many miles out of their tires as possible & being careful to reduce road wear, as opposed to the prior analogy. Hey--it's a race car--built for speed, not comfort! There's a little bit of death-defying, suicidal, bone wrecking soreness in the throat of a singer who off-roads with his chords like that & I think eventually they know they'll have to face the music. (Pun intended.) I took a photo of my palm tree & reworked it. I call it "Robert the Plant!"
