Thousands of Pro-Gun Advocates Rally in Virginia They rally there annually on MLK day to voice concern about pending legislation, this year the governor's clear violation of 2nd amendment rights was at the top of the list.
If an armed citizenry would be no danger to other parts of that society I might go along with the right to own assault weapons and even bazookas. Bombing is not nuking btw.
I never understood why so many on the left are against the right to arms and self defense. They preach how much the want equality in everything. Yet they don’t realize that a gun is the great equalizer in protecting the weak against the mighty. Actually, I do understand why. It’s their festishizing of the all mighty government
That's really the only conclusion you can draw? You dont think it has anything to do with the fact that the rate of death by gun in the US is so much higher than in countries with stricter gun control? Okay then
I think its the amount of accidents and the unfortunate fact plenty of people can't be trusted with them. But most on the american left seem to be for the right to own arms; just better regulated. Reality makes it apparent that's not a crazy thought.
O......kaaayyy. First of all whether they are patriots or not can be argued. They don't like the way our laws are formed and enacted and they vow to take up arms to overthrow their own government. They aren't standing up for the 2nd Amendment as they already have guns and no one is seriously talking about taking all guns from everybody. This is the part where you inject your mandatory junior high insult. So he's not trying to get rid of the 2nd Amendment, but the protesters are protesting against getting rid of the 2nd Amendment...okay. Really? How? What people? The Democrats ran on a program of passing new stricter gun control laws...and guess what? They won the majority in the government for the first time in 26 years! Seems to me that's what the majority of the voters in Virginia want. So what people are you talking about? Another Junior high insult. Uh, wrong, what the people want. Ha! Senator Amanda Chase. Here's another nut. She wore a loaded .38 caliber firearm while presenting bills in the Senate and explained, I guess she was going to shoot another Senator or something if they got too loud on the floor of the Senate. Of course she's the one who, Probability weren't letting her do what she wants. So I read it reeeeeel slow. Makes less sense than when I read it fast.
Comical. I own guns for self defense and collecting and I support stricter gun laws like the ones proposed in Virginia. And...get this...I'm proud to be liberal on a number of issues.
Men will always be bigger, stronger, and more physically advantaged than women. Laws can't change it. Quotas and women-only shortlists can't change it. Toxifying masculinity won't change it. Contaminating the food supply with soy won't change it. Only guns can make a difference.
I do not know if having a gun raly on Martin Luther king day was bad. My first thought was yes. You know he applied for a concealed weapon licence and was denied it? Alabama law read that authorities "may" issue one, at their discretion. and the authorities in Alabama denied King's application at the time. Glenn Smiley, a civil rights leader pushed King to embrace nonviolence, and described kings home as "an arsenal." he didn’t carry a gun, but those surrounding him were pretty heavily armed. not really familiar with what one does on this day.
