    Is anyone familiar with him?

He is the co-founder/co-director for the Center for Cognitive Liberty & Ethics (www.cognitiveliberty.org/), and has defended people's rights to use entheogens for years.

Anyway, he was on Coast to Coast radio with George Noory a few nights ago and was talking about some fascinating things about how the government wants to control what we can and can't think by keep harmless, beneficial entheogens illegal, and through something called "brain fingerprinting." He also discussed the benefits of various psychedelics, ranging from mushrooms, to peyote, to ayahuasca - among many other things.

You can listen to a recording of the show on Real Audio here:

This is some very interesting, thought-prevoking stuff. Check it out!

    Rat,

I watched a program on PBS about "brain fingerprinting", its inventor, and how he was using it to determine whether death-row inmates were really guilty of the crime or not. You may want to go to PBS.org and see if you can read up on it. Regarding the other aspect of your post, I personally believe that the Gov does not want people doing psychoactive substances because doing them shifts your brain into a more elegant device, something they do not want. Their ideal utopia is one filled with bleating, docile, subserviant sheep, not free thinkers-we cause too much trouble. There is also this school of thought: In the old days, drugs were primarily manufactured by independent chemists...now days, because of the enormous profits in selling them, the Gov has gotten into it full-time, and does not want any competition from wildcatters. Basic business-stifle the competition, own the market. Unfortunately, the "CIA Brand" of drugs available today are so watered-down that you have to take 3-5 times the amount you had to when I was young. Look what the government is doing to pot growers-they crucify these people, give them inordinately long jail terms, (to keep them off the street longer, so the Gov can gobble up their territory, no doubt), and likewise the same for MDMA dealers-the penalties are stiffer for X than Heroin!! Why? Because X is a hot item, and where there's money to be made, they are going to be the ones making it! It's no secret that the so-called "Israeli Mafia" controls most of the X sold world-wide...Considering how tough the law enforcement is in Israel, I can't see how a true criminal enterprise can survive there without the governments approval, which leads us to the Mossad-the Israeli version of the CIA...well, we all know that they're in bed together, so what if the Mossad decided to take a page from the CIAs drug dealing primer, and use it for itself??? Hmmm, kinda makes you wonder.
