RF Political views.

What political ideology do you asociate with yourself the most? Why?

Non-political people do not exist... so that can't be an answer.. political view is simply your outlook on life.. and this must come under some kind of ideology.

 

I'm a post modern apocalyptic.

I didn't ask for discussion of politics.. just the one word/few words that describe the views of each person.

 

The bull shit alarm goes off in my head when I hear the word 'politics'. I don't vote. I think voting is thee most retarded action anyone can take. Thats my 2 cents (or in our case 1p)

 

So it appears we have an anarchist amongst us nice choice.

 

I guess I'd be an anarchist, but I don't consider myself such since I can find at least one thing to disagree with about each denomination of anarchism.

 

If I were asked this a year ago, I would've said staunch Conservative. However, I have moved on to being more of a Libertarian. The reasoning behind this move leftward is rather simple. I don't agree with religion influencing political issues such as stem cell research, abortion, and same sex marriage.

 

Not an anarchist.. Think about. What will your interest in politics achieve? Certain political balls are set in motion that we cannot change by voting. I can't believe some people vote thinking that they are going to change the world they personally live in. Its like buying a lottery ticket and thinking your going to be a millionaire lol

 

This is true.. but democracy is the only thing you are bashing... not politics.

 

Why must we categorize our political thinking? To politicians, politics is a way of making money- and lots of it so to favor any established candidate when my personal view is that it's the money that corrupts them would be rather hypocritical. Money fuels ambition but like any addictive substance there is no amount that will satisfy.

THERE IS NO DEMOCRACY, i can't fathom why people still use this word, all i do know is that people seem to think democracy = good guys.

 

I don't think that democracy=good guys.

And there is democracy... it has a definition... i think you mean that democracy isn't what people think it is... i.e. fair

democracy = majority of people chuck minority of people in jail and have a party

 

No im pretty sure i know what i think but thanks for the suggestion no democracy does not exist, the only democratic feature our governments have is the voting process, this however does not constitute true democracy.

We live in a 'representative democracy' which is nothing like what the Athenians called democracy or demokratia.

I'm sorry.. i thought you meant that democracy does not exist... in general.. but you obviously mean it does not exist as a sytem of government today...

I'd say democracy is an elective dictatorship of sorts.

 

Ahh i see the mix up, I'd say democracy is more of an oligarchy with a figure head, it is the rich elite who choose who's campaign to fund and it is the rich elite that get benefits first so in this way i believe that they are the ones in control. Unfortunaley i think dollars often count more then numbers
