    We want PEACE dammit!

We can't be afraid of what the pigs are gonna do to us. that's why some poeple around here say such shit like ho, we can't do it because they are afraid of what's gonna happen.

We need to get over our goddamn fears and just do it!

If the pigs arrest us or whatever, I know of ways they can't.

Anyway, and we need to stop worrying about what others are going to think too.

    SCREW THEM!!

Ya know what!? If you want a revoultin, just do it. Screw everything else. Just get over ur fears and do it.

Thanx 4 letting me get that out! :)
I may/ may not mean some of what I said... I dunno.

But we also want more people who want peace, and that should be achieved throught education, wich is right now only a thought manufacture. The world needs more minds thinking for themselves.

no i think we all know what we need. But what we NEED TO ACHIEVE A REVOLUTION?

do you think the protest will be enough? how do you think to enlight people minds? you can achieve peace through controlling the world (a central government) but do we wanna a world dominated by a modern day fascism.

The question is what do we want???

    Protest, sit-ins.. etc...
All the hippies get together and do these things.
People will stop and wonder "What the HELL is going on???"
Large groups of strangely (I mean dressed in hippie garb) dressed people will get people's attention.
Some people out there, who have been looking for other hippies out there, will join us happily.
Non-hippies who have the same belifs as us will find out we're protesting and join us as well.

    Help a little bit?

We DONOT need to control the world. That's NOT what hippies are about.
Protest will be enough. Trust me.

i actually think there already is a revolution going on. remember the G8 protests? LiveEarth? they are just two events out of many two projects out of many. i think the g8 protests are more of a little microkosmos of what really is going on. all kinds of people with all kinds of motives working on one goal, a world with more justice. protests are just one side of the whole revolution of evolution that's going on right now. i think it basically comes down to this: there are a lot of people in this world right now doing something beautiful, not waiting for the others to follow them, they are just doing it because they feel like doing it. even on this forum they are around and i believe there are a lot of people with aspirations to do so, just look at all the revolutionary threads around here. the corporate media don't give them attention because they don't believe in these people. you somethimes hear from them because of a scandal or a failure, but that's because they don“t believe it. the most important things are, these people don't wait for others (the whole world) to join them and they are just solve problems in a original way because they feel like it.

I think even if revolution started with just a protest or 2, it would snowball. I think young people, like in the sixties, are very liberal, and even deep down, anti-establishment, (providing I'm talking about the ones who care about more than MTV, football, and getting laid) However, I think their very close-minded and most of them just follow the leader, not in the sense of "whatever the government tells them to" but instead the fads and attitudes they see in their peirs. I think if their were more people showing their hippieness more people combine their liberalness and with maybe a new-found sense of adventure and join the revolution and more and more will follow until it's 1969 again

I'm sorry but I don't think that protests are enought... they will certainly reach all those who care, but unfortunatly, those who don't care will never listen... unless they are thought at very young age all those things we want. Acid Trash asked what we needed to achieve a revolution, I'd say better people, and that only achieved with better education.

^ Not everyone is going to accept this revolution. And we need to accept the fact that we can't force people. They would hate us more than some do now.

Sure, but teaching is not forcing, especially in that case, where children would be ''taught'' creativity and curiosity.

Only thing you need to do is (trying to) be a good example. If that means that causes a personal revolution then you need a 'revolution' indeed ;). Never too late to start with that, I wasn't a good example from the beginning neither and I'm certainly not the best example still, but at least I'm aware of what I am and what I cause and live by it. If you try to live while treating other people and your world like you wanted to be treated yourself you don't need aggression nor revolution. If the majority of the world want it to be different there's no point in pissing on policecars (how satisfying it may be) and the like. Peaceful protesting and spreading positive vibes is the most useful you can do. If the majority don't want to listen aggression would only work against you guys!

If all us hippies would protest and go on strike, like in the 60's and 70's, coupled with better education, then revolution would come, because the people that agree with us would join us, and the people that don't care would be forced to listen

a bunch of rich rock stars throwing a concert is not going to save the planet. plus think of how much electricity it took to throw it...and how much trash people probably left behind...

^ good point but I heard it was hell of a concert. I dont think we should discount the rich. I'm sure that every single one of those people has donated to some kind of non-profit thing. And although I think most of them are rich snobbs, and the kind of rich person that I dont like, and they probably gave that money for publicity, I dont give a crap how the money got their (unless you stole it from children) as long as its going to a worthy cause

Me and some friends are starting one right now, we got a forum where we prepare demonstrations for peace and less violence on the streets. It's called http://peacerevolution.forum2go.nl
It's in Dutch, but feel free to look around, we need people who want to help and maybe some of you come from holland, I'm not getting many replies on the dutch forum part
