The rain has been falling for over a week now
the sky as dark and clouded as my thoughts.
Outside you can hear the soft patter of the falling water
gently shattering on the dead leaves - - carried from the trees
    with the change of seasons.

I was told three days ago, that the senses are lifted
by the serene sound of water descending- -
out of the sky, and on to the ground
    the serene sound
of it creeping down the grassy knoll
and the vision of it slowly soaking the autumn
    auburn leaves as it flows.

So I step outside for a breath of fresh air.
I now recognize the evening breeze-
    Blowing right through me
as if to steal the weight I burdened
    only moments ago.
And with it, it slowly drifts away into nightfall-
    as I fall
    under slumbers spell.

I rise with the sun, and I smile.
