Reputation; worthless or useless?

Personally I think reputation is pointless.

this whole reputation thing makes me feel so unwanted.. which i probably am

 

I normally feel like a red headed step child, so it really doesn't bother me.

 

i cant see the point of theese rep things .i would think if you had too many afirmative ones it would belie dishonesty .if people liked what i said id be disapointed! the truth hurts !

 

Chance are people aren't gonna rate you unless you do something wrong, horrible wrong.

That plus i thought the whole idea about hipforums was about starting a frendly internet community, with the reputation points its like

oh that person has this much of scale they must be jerk, or this person has this many points they must be vary friendly.

Its like jugding a person without geting to know them, i can see a new type of flaring starting but instead of flaring involving words flaring involving reputation points.

I can see it happening soon, i'm fearfull it will happen to me, that plus its almost untrackable.

 

Have you guys seen any difference? I got 6 today. I have to say a couple of ppl have abused it already.

Well I don't think its a very good idea. There are other better ways of finding out if somebody is to your liking. Rreading their posts of one of them. It may be call "reputation" but really it will end up being a popularity scale, bad idea, very bad idea.

Personaly i think the reputation points has its pros/cons.

 

worthless...the system doesnt appear to be working because noone has any rp's yet. so, whenever we give someone rp's it doesnt make any difference (rps stay even), except that the reciever gets a nice little note (if you put a note). so, that part it worthwhile. i like the little boosts. =)

Every so often , I get bored and just give every post my approval. Not the reall reall long ones (sorry mnax)

I really don't understand the whole reputation thing. Ahh well. There are many things I don't understand.

 

You don't have your rep enabled, so if someone sends you love, you can't see it. I just fixed mine and found I had comments.
