Well, that's pretty good, I've never grossed 70k in my life and I've worked over 34 years as a professional and another 14 years on top of that at various other jobs. And that includes working two jobs at once for over 10 years. And you've been unemployed for about 4 months!

Sounds like you need someone to work on your finances.

  2. Indeed, I have. But every strategy fell flat for one reason or another. I've even had accountants tell me I should bank offshore and literally cheat my way into a lower tax bracket. I don't risk jail for many reason these days. Another thing that sucks is that some of the nations I work in tax me up front, then the US government taxes me when I get back. I quit working in the Caribbean because too many of those governments demand 25% right off the top. I get a better deal in Africa, but not by much. The middle east is a crap shoot and I have been hit with exit fees. Not that it matters to the US. They still tax me against the gross no matter what the country I was working in charges me.

And I'm not a greedy sort at all. I go to these places because I am actually contributing to the advancement of developing nations. Not just donating to a "charity" and hoping for the best. Another factor that comes into play is the time out of country. It runs for a calendar year, so I have never been able to claim the exemption. In Atlanta we live in a $60K house, the one in Scotia was $75K. Both were paid off a few years ago, so we only pay property taxes now. Useless taxes since I don't utilize their school systems. But it's part of the deal and I do my part. Besides, if I don't support schools around where I live, what will become of the area? It will likely turn into shit. Which is why I dislike the idea of giving seniors property tax exemptions. It kills the schools slowly.

It came out that Carson was lying about his involvement with a pharmaceutical company, when he said at the debate that it was media propaganda.

Rubio was caught lying about the Benghazi hearings, saying the she was caught lying in her testimony.

Kasich was caught lying about not be involved with Lehman Brothers.

Trump was caught lying about not criticizing Mark Zuckerberg, and being 100% self funded.

And they all lied about funding Social Security and Medicare.

It's more like they're all running for LIAR in chief.

The GOP candidates are now trying to dictate the rules of the remaining debates, and telling the RNC to take a hike. They want all questions to be provided to them before the debate. And only republicans can ask the questions. I think only FOX NEWS will go along with that.

They hated CNBC so much that the NBC debate is now off.

Ummm... have you forgotten Megyn Kelly?

It was suggested by a lib today, that the next GOP debate have Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Susan Van Sustren and Bill O'Riley for moderators. Try to visualize that.

Next GOP debate is Tuesday, on the Fox Business News channel. Christie got bumped to the children's table, and Graham didn't make the cut for either debate.

Ha, I just heard Ben Carson Admitted to lying about being offered a west point scholarship!

    http://www.politico.com/story/2015/11/ben-carson-west-point-215598
"Carson's campaign on Friday conceded that a central point in his inspirational personal story did not occur as he previously described."

    Carson is toast

... if his core supporters care at all about the truth.

He also claimed that he used to be a violent young man, but people who knew him back then say he was a quiet bookworm. And he recently said nobody who signed the Declaration of Independence had prior experience in elected office, but it's a well-established fact that nearly all of them did. Historians know their names, and what offices they ran for, and what years they served. The subject has been studied to death, for decades.

Just how stupid does he think Americans are? Just the GOP base isn't enough to get anybody in the White House.

I heard about this yesterday. I'm already sick of the muckraking in this election period. How is this even newsworthy? I don't know a person alive who hasn't lied or stretched the truth about their past. Whatever. I focus on the point is that Carson is way too far to the right. He intrigued me a bit in the beginning, since he must be quite intelligent and somewhat of an interesting character. But he lost me cold at abortions being illegal even in cases of rape or incest. His social policies are downright chilling.

I think he may have a serious problem with being a chronic liar.

I wasn't sure what was worse, nearly stabbing someone at 14, or lying about it.

He should only do interviews with Brian Williams. That would be perfect.

We can laugh, but it scares the hell out of me that any of these bozos might be President, especially the current Republican front runners. Especially Carson--the mild mannered crackpot who thinks Obamacare is worse than slavery, the Egyptian pyramids were built to store grain, and scientists are just wrong about evolution and the Big Bang (the latter theory proposed by Lemaitre, a Catholic priest) because they contradict the Bible.

But in general it boggles my mind that Republican voters seem to think that a person with absolutely no experience in government or politics would make an excellent President, because (s)he'll bring a fresh perspective to the Oval Office. I admit the Establishment-controlled game needs an overhaul, but if Carson, Trump or Fiorina make it to the White House, I hope I can find a good fraidy hole to hide in!

Trump sucked on Saturday Night Live. He didn't say or do anything tonight that was funny.
