chi-town, the windy city.

the place i grew up in has been refered to as "the city of sin " for generations

 

"The Flower City" and "The Image Capital of the World". (Because of Kodak.)

 

My actual town is a small satellite of Vancouver BC called.....
Abby. short for 'Abbotsford'
Just east of us is Chilliwack, or 'the wack'
Pitt Meadows is 'the Pitt'
Vancouver is usually just called Van, then there's North Van, West Van, and East Van.
Kitsilano is called Kits.
One other one nearby is Port Coquitlam, or PoCo.

Toon Town, or Stoon for us people who are too lazy to type out it's name (Saskatoon)

 

How the fuck is that pronounced? Just Sa-ska-toon? That's so akward to say

I have no idea what my towns nickname is

 

um, welly, the windy city, wellywood, and they cheesily changed it to middle earth - like, even the daily newspaper changed it's name to The Middle Earth post - around the time that the return of the king was released.

 

I live in the burbs, we lack a nickname. The closest city is chi-town, "the windy city".
