ah, the golden books thread has made me all nostalgic for the books of my young childhood. There were so many good ones, like Where the Wild Things Are the Alfie and Annie-Rose series the Postman Pat books and many more... do you guys remember any of these? what were your favourites?
Postman Pat Postman Pat Postman Pat and his black and white cat! loved that dude! I've recently started re-reading all my Mr. Men and Little Miss books... does anyone else remember these?? My favourites are Mr. Tickle, Little Miss Contrary and Little Miss Giggles.
yeah, they were cool. I forgot some - does anyone remember *the Sophie series (like Sophie's Snail, Sophie's Tom etc...)(yes, I read them orginally only because the girl was called Sophie ) *The ramona quimby books? *Those vegetable books, where there was a whole land of veggies that had personalities? I the pear was maybe called Peter?
I loved Postman Pat too. When my Dad read the books he used to do the little theme song for me. I loved it because I was too young to realise he couldn't sing. Winnie the Pooh (still do ) The Hungry Caterpillar I was literally obessed with Thomas the tank engine (as was my younger brother) We used to watch the videos for hours. Then I grew up of it and discovered Ringo Starr's other talents. TTFN Sage
Amazingly, I am now recalling a few titles I hadn't called to memory in 20 years. Harry The Dirty Dog No Bath Tonight Nana Upstairs & Nana Downstairs Do any of these ring a bell with anyone else?
OMG, stress, Harry. I don't know if it was the same Harry adventure but one of my all time favourite childhood books was about Harry and his seaside adventure - he gets covered in seaweeed and loses his family, but it all works out fine. Good times.
