released marlin attacked by shark..

While sailing out to sea to release a marlin back into the wild, Australian videographers unintentionally turned that fish into shark bait. Everything was going smoothly (or so it seemed) for the Marlin to be set free and live a long fish life. Al McGlashan was in the water filming the release when suddenly a shark came up from the deep and took a hunk out of the poor fish. In a few moments, the marlin was ripped to pieces.

I first thought it was a towed out camera, but then seen it was a diver. seemed like he was safe though,,, lol. least from the shark we could see..

 

thats a big fucking marlin

 

would have been more exciting had the shark turned around and attacked dude with the camera.. exciting none the less

 

I was catch and release fly fishing once and I released a fish while there was an eagle over head. The eagle swung round and grabbed the fish I had just released.

Angling does cause the fish to become energy depleted and more open to predation for a time. Certainly the guy holding the fish by the bill further put it at a disadvantage. I don't think a shark could take a healthy marlin.

In another instance, I had a small trout on and a much larger char grabbed hold of the hooked fish and would not let go. I landed the char. Even though the char wasn't hooked it would not be denied it's dinner.

i've had sunnies get nailed by northerns while bringing them in... also had a small northern get attacked by another northern while i was bring it in.. pretty crazy to witness for sure

 

bass attack other bass in distress too..
