Regular or Feminized Seeds??

Ok I am a beginner at growing. I am planning on getting some seeds but I don't know if I should get regular seeds or pay a little extra and get the feminized seeds?

 

rookie?...its so easy..i would go regular...feminized seeds can be a problem ie hermaphrodites

my female % wasnt any different to my friends female %....thats just me...i dont know genetics but i can grow a happy plant

 

'Bagseed' the ones ya find in bags of weed are best for beginners cause if somethin' goes wrong they didn't cost anything to begin. Then when you've gotten a few right go for the special beans:>)

 

Go to Nirvana, order their Kaya Gold, feminized. Its super easy to grow, and you dont waste your time taking care of bunches of plants that just turn out to be males and ruin your year. Feminized genetices have become very stable, its just a matter of getting a hardy plant type and not letting it stress out (like not watering it all year or nukeing it with nutrients).

Last year I grew some reggie Satori and Mazir I Sharif. Ten plants in all. I had some huge monsters, but gess what, only two females.. TWO, all those wasted bat guano teas and good soil and space. I'd only go feminized or clones now days, I was trying to get clones of Satori anyway but I ended up moving and having to ditch them.

Anyway, VERY dissapointing to have these huge plants turn out to be males.

If you decide to go with reggie seeds, I HIGHLY (lol) recomend Satori (Mandala Seed Co.), Its an awsome, easy plant with a killer high (like seriously good for everything, all day smoke but helps you relax for bed too) I really wish I coulda kept my clones.

But, in the end, I think you will be happier with feminized seeds. Nirvana is a great deal, they got lots of good strains for cheap, but Kaya Gold is the easiest. (Assuming you are growing outside)

 

Oh yeah, I'd try germing the bagseed to get used to getting your beans to grow. Some people dis it, but I use the wet rag technique and get 100% success rate every time with any ordered seeds. PM me for tips if you want em.

Also, I just saw your other post, if you decide to grow indoors, DEFINATLY get feminized seeds, theres no way I'd waste my time growing anything else indoors. Nirvana's got lots of good indoor strains too, but Kaya Gold is an outdoor plant. Blue Mystic is a really good one casue it doesnt put off much of a smell at all and is another easy grower.

Also, if growing indoors, DEFINATLY look into and learn how to LST, I'd say your yields will at least double. It makes everything so much easier cause it keeps your height down and your plants will go crazy with vigorous growth.

250 watt digital lumatex ballast works really good on a budget btw.

 

why would you not trick the plants early and lose the males?....recognizing males is not hard either by tricking before you move them outside[best scenario] or by tricking in the field....also its my experience that the tall plants are males 95% of the time so discount those almost right away....nature knows that the pollen bursts and will fall downward onto the females

i will agree that if you want a specific strain or cross then a reputable vendor and feminized seeds is the way to go...blueberry is one of my favorites and is very 'tough' to fuck up

i enjoy the anticipation of finding out the strains as they appear from seeds gathered from friends and family

 

Well, I was late starting them, and didnt wat to trick, then have complications and was LSTing, but you are right, the more vigorous growers seem to be males usually.

Yeah, I always grow a few random bagseeds too for fun, but dont take as much care of em. Last year I had one grow huge with like about 300 lil budsites, but it only yielded like an ounce, I was so pissed, it was the most fucked up genetics I ever saw.

Like in comparison, my Satori that was a quarter the size harvested about 20 days earlier with 4 oz, so I find picking good genetics to be a high priority.

 

Ok so I think I'm gonna just start out with a couple shitty seeds and then I'm gonna get half my order regular and half feminized.

Some of my best, hardiest plants came from "Shitty seeds". After all they already weathered the weather so to speak;>D
