Rant [opinionated] I'm gonna get hate for this but I don't really care lol I could care less if I offend you, the lack of ideas and discussions are..to me is more distasteful I'm in no way a trump supporter but these dumb ass kids need to grow the fuck up and come together as Hillary suggested (you hypocritical cunts) instead of crying and rioting screaming not my president, shouting racist rhetoric and burning the American flag --it's called Democracy, don't like it move to Iran --if anything trump winning showed that big change is possible, a lot of people didn't think much was tangible in the established US political structure so that's something to be optimistic about. These liberals today are regressive, pathetic and don't understand anything outside their safe space echo chamber of shitty ideas that go unchallenged, and non of these so called liberals are articulated enough to do proper bipartisan debates instead they resort to screaming and interrupting like children, they just don't understand how to have a proper discussion of ideas & especially with other liberals like me whom are disgusted with the lack of rational discourse and anti-intellectualism, and the "character assassination" of labeling any opposing ideals to be racist or sexist Not all trump supporters are sexists and racists. I do realise not all Hillary supporters are these types of liberals but to the ones who are for the love of everything good GROW THE FUCK UP this is not an us vs them mentality or a male vs female thing this is not a fucking star wars movie where it's the dark side vs the light side (jedi)...people vote for different reasons, you'd know that if you actually paid attention to politics and the conversion of ideas as to why people are voting Mic Drop* ~I would of liked to see Hillary win, or better Bernie Sanders
mostly agree with mmpt It's the hysterical extremist elements on the left crying sexism and racism at the drop of a hat that were the principle elements that fueled the rise of trump. In large part this election was a backlash against the excesses of the left. It's also elements on the left that have been chanting the mantra of "polarization is good!" and "you have to polarize to mobilize!". It's little consolation that they now have to lay in the bed they made, because everyone else in America has to lay in it too.
As someone who tends to lean "liberal" on many issues yes many of the college ages ones really don't understand that other people have the right to disagree with you. It's a phenomenon that has popped up in the last few years. Like I am a few older than that and in my time being liberal implied a lot more respect for debate and not using the "safe space" to shut yourself off from differing opinions.
In ten years of asking people if they know the simple distinction between a democracy and lynch mob I have yet to hear the correct answer. You can't have a democracy if nobody knows what the damned word means and the fact people are rioting in the streets and snipers are killing cops, while our constitutional rights have been indefinitely suspended, the mayor of NYC arrests 26 reporters in one day, and the NSA is reading a third of the country's emails are all clear indications the US is a democracy in name only. The real question to ask yourself is why do you still believe its a democracy and why do you expect people to respond differently?
I have NSA bait emails. One is called the "Butter Bomb" and includes instructions for making explosive condiments. It's all utter bullshit of course, I'd never taint food like that. I also have the lyrics to Cherry Pie (ICP) in Arabic that I send to myself every so often. So far I have only had DHS at the house once, while I was in Egypt. Jane, my wife, went into a panic thinking I had been kidnapped. When they revealed their petty shit she threatened, in detail, to put curses on them (she's from Louisiana) as she ran them out of the house with my shillelagh. I think next I'm going to edit the Bug Bomb sequence from Lexx to make it seem like a defense supplier ad! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLkcV-D8hi0
Modern-day liberals have regressed into nothing. They try to nominate a female Dick Cheney and throw a bitch fit when she loses.
Worse, she's too close to Janet Reno. Reno spooked a lot of people. She also fell a lot. Hillary's "Scooby Van" nonsense was a direct rip of Reno's pickup truck campaign in Florida. What sucks though is that a younger Hillary might have pulled off a win. A Hillary before all the bodies began to pile up in her wake. I remember a time when I wanted to pork her. I have to admit though, it was just going to be a pity fuck. I'm not mature enough for such an old crone.
I'm not so sure she'd get elected when she was younger. I lived in Arkansas when Bill was governor and she was constantly wrapped up in the embezzlement schemes of her law firm. Half the news cycle was dedicated to his rape victims/accusers (there were dozens, at least one new victim every month and the Arkansas State Police was under investigation for threatening and intimidating his victims), and the other half of the news cycle was dedicated to following her through all her court dates pertaining to embezzlement and shady real estate deals. Back then it only took one scandal to end your political career. Nowadays people are so numb to corruption they just ignore it. You have no idea how shocked I was when he ran for President. I couldn't believe he made it anywhere near the national stage. Not because he wouldn't make a good President, but I was amazed at how well the media covered up his ridiculously scandalized career as governor.
I think it's fascinating how many hard right conservatives there are on Hip Forums. I can see you all just back from the country club, dashing off the latest from Fox. Whatever happened to the sixties values? Is it all jusst about drugs now?
End of Conversation They walled in another ghetto today, To discourage any inquiring minds, To raise, the local real estate values, To make, policing their crowds easier, Insisting, that its the will of the people! And paid the cops to keep all others out, Best to kill that one, and burn the ground! Then spent another billion, on one election, Popular comedians complained its too much! The mass media spouting whatever paid more, Just act shocked, when ghetto snipers kill cops! The gun does all the talking all around the world, Ask the NRA, why they want to arm every citizen! The billionaire mayor of NYC, arrested 26 reporters, To stop them from publicizing the Occupy Movement, To stop those without money from ever talking to them, When the pigs sprayed great grandma with pepper spray! Nobody said boo... nothing was done... end of conversation, Then bankers handed congress a list of everything they wanted. Still, half the people insist the government they call evil lie to them, While they copyright freedom speech, and start charging by the syllable.
It ain't so much that kids are protesting, it's scary that they actually believe that there is validity in what they're protesting. There is no organic foundation for the bases of their protests. In fact, the foundation supports opposite of that for which they're protesting. There is a frightening lack of knowledge of kids today, including kids with college degrees. I'd bet that 95% of protestors have no clue of John Locke and how he influenced the creation of the country in which they live.
John Locke was the dude who invented free shit outta thin air. I still ain't yet got my free Obamaphone. In fact, I ain't ever got any free shit. How come everyone else gets free shit but me? I even had to buy my ow wide screen. Now that's some nasty shit.
My mom tried to get an Obama phone but she said the forms were too complicated and the site didn't work. I definitely believe that second statement.
Political correctness is both a problem and a copout. There's a difference between honest discourse and hatespeech but that isn't always apparent for some. The regressive liberals have only helped fuel the flames for what is going on now. Of course, Trump's victory is partly a reaction against the wave of ultra-PC culture. What do you expect when you go around policing language while self-righteously forcing your agenda down people's throats? It's just a terrible way of confronting these issues and it doesn't help the cause against bigotry and sexism. Quite the opposite, as there have been plenty accounts of racial intimidation since Election day. As a left-leaning person of mixed ancestry, I am far more concerned about getting paid equally and not having to live in fear due to skin color than I am with a 'microaggression.' Furthermore, we can't simply turn away from uncomfortable discussions just because they may offend others. Being tolerant also means hearing out and considering the opinions of those who disagree with you. At the same time, conducting yourself like an angry, bigoted buffoon will not go a long way. This pride in being 'political incorrect' is just a cover up for one's lack of intellect. When you conduct yourself in such a manner, people are not going to take you seriously. Unfortunately, that gives many liberals a reason to feel smug and in their minds, they will paint every conservative accordingly.
John Locke was the Brit Thomas Jefferson plagarized part of the Declaration from--only instead of Locke's "life, liberty, and property", Jefferson wrote "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." A dude from around here got inspired and said he was pursuing happiness by smoking weed. The authorities were not amused. The Declaration of Independence makes good Fourth of July rhetoric, but it it has no legal significance as far as rights are concerned. The Framers of the U.S. Constitution put things back in their original form in the phase that appears in the due process clauses of both the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments: "life, liberty, and property". The government can't take away our "life, liberty, and property" without due process of law. Locke's ideas had an enormous influence on the colonial elite that put our Constitution together, although his ideas were out of style in England by then. He believed in natural rights--those "self-evident' rights we could deduce by reason from the nature of things. That idea is considered quaint today, but it's become iconic among conservatives, especially those of the far-right so-called "Patriot" movement who want to take us back to the eighteenth century. The rights that are protected are bedrock for our freedoms. Private property is important, but making a fetish of it can border on idolatry.
