so i couldn't find my old thread. i thought i'd share an observation with you all. i almost never see any caucasian locks around here. but, my sweetie claims that their are quite a few on the campus that he works at. i have seen one girl in passing on my campus. but that's fucking it! i wonder what the correlation between having locks and likelihood to be a hermit is?
but, i did meet one girl on the bus the other day that had attempted to backcomb and allllll of it came loose. it told her that there are many methods, but definitely making sure your shampoo is residue-free is key. also, i met another chick maybe an hour later asking "how did you get your hair to dread, i backcombed mine and it all came loose" (fljhkdjbfg i hate when people use dread as a verb). so, i guess their is a dread friendly vibe on my campus as well as my sweetie's. but where the fuck are all these people? come out, shake em, be proud!

Lately I've seen a lot of dreaded people in my town but, they are all charity raisers. They all target me and are just gobsmacked when I say that I don't care for their charities...

But generally I don't see any at all who live here. It's cool though I don't really seek to be friends someone just because we have the same hairstyle.

yea most people with dreads are trendy narcissistic douchebags.

besides, i prefer my friends to have mohawks, not dreads

the only person around here with dreads(that i know of) is frankie he's had them for like 7 years and they are natural he's actually suppose to be coming over today. He found me on myspace a few months back and it turned out he owned a shop that a lot of my friends like in town. ever since i got dreads tho my friends have wanted me to do dreads for them once they move out of their parents or grow their hair out. I dont know if i like it because they all asked me to pierce their lip after i did mine so idk makes me feel weird.

hope all of that makes sense :)

but you would think since i lived in sc there would be a lot of people with dreads since dreadheadHQ is based out of columbia sc

Im pretty sure im the only one on my university campus with em their used to be one dude who had some crocheted ones but he shaved his head like 6 months in. I have 2 friends who have single dreads they did with crochet hooks but as for having a full head im the only one. I think in my city of about 350,000+ there are 5 people with dreads 2 are homeless the other one 1 being me and im just assuming 2 more throughout the high schools and what not. Its cool I get stares all the time but it doesnt bother me lol some dude from mexico offered me 2.5k and 3 pounds of weed to cut my hair today but I think he was just bullshitting he seemed serious though :cheers2:

I have had my dreads for about two months and I am a total hermit! But I was a total hermit long before I got dreads so it hasn't changed anything :)

living in the mountains of montana, i see none. unless i go to bozeman then i might see one set per outing. have yet to see any in billings, which is a bigger city, but not nearly as hippy granola as bozeman.

I am a hermit at the moment, but not by choice :(

I dont see them that much either since I moved. My hubs and I are the only dready peeps on the block. lol. Its annoying though because nobody really understands us because of it. Last night we were at the grocery store and this kid who probablly wasnt any older then 19? passed us twice in the aisles and did a little reggae dance and sang loudly..."Oh ganja mon" Derf. My partner wanted to punch him. I shoulda let him but I wasnt sure if the kid was of legal age yet. Dont need any lawsuits.
