Okay, well, as you all know I've been on a lot of stuff for quite a long time. I am totally okay with people who take drugs to "get high" and whatever, more power to them, but the reason I take anything is because I cannot stand being in pain. So.. I'm just going to copy and paste this from the file I keep, but here is a list of my current medications. Amphetamine Salts Er (Adderall XR) - 30 mg – 1 in AM Carisoprodol (Soma) – 350 mg – 1 three times a day (1-2 a day) Diclofenac Sod EC (Voltaren) – 75 mg – 1 tab twice daily Folic Acid (1 mg) – 1 tab daily Hydrocoon – Acetaminoph (Norco ) 7.5-325 – 1 tab 3x a day a needed Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) - 200 mg – 1 daily with food Jolivette (Birth Control)- 1 daily Promethazine (Phenergan) -25 mg – 1 every 6 hrs as needed for nausea Trazodone - 50 mg – 2 at bedtime, may repeat 1 tab in 1 hour (down to 1/2) at night Pristiq ER - 100 mg – 1 tab daily Vimpat – 150 mg – 1 twice a day Fentanyl - 25 mcg/hr Up until yesterday I was on Alprazolam (Xanax) – 2 mg – 3 times a day as needed but I just switched to Klonopin - 2mg - 3 times a day as needed. I only take one a day. First of all.. I know I am on a LOT of dangerous addicting medicines. I do understand all the risks. I take these medications because I have to. I can't get out of bed without them. I can't function at all in my normal state. ANYWAY.. I need some advice from you all. I feel like one of the medications I'm taking is blocking my opiate receptor. I know that sounds really strange, and of course it could be my tolerance, but I was given fentanyl and morphine after my knee surgery and it hardly helped at all. Normally with medicine like that (IV), I do get that loopy feeling, but I didn't, so I found it strange. It is really strange to me and I just KNOW something is going on.. If any of you have the time to look through all my medicines and see if something is going on. Maybe it's just my body being weird.. it's just really frustrating. I would like to get by on 1-2 norco a day, and I know I could, they just aren't strong enough. (And no, I haven't talked to my doctor about this because I haven't seen him in a little while. Going to make an appointment soon.) And ohh I forgot to add, that I have been using hash oil lately. It REALLY helps.. I just don't have a very large supply so I use it sparingly.
She wants to know if some of her other meds may be blocking her opiate receptors. I doubt it though. It could be the result of an interaction I suppose, maybe one or a combination of the other meds masking the effects of the narcotics. Or it could just be increased tolerance. Try upping the dosage and see if that helps.
Yep, happydude hit it right on the spot. Yeah, I try to take 4-5 pills sometimes (bad, I know) but they still do like nothing.. I guess this is something I need to bring up to my doctor!! Thanks for the replies!
When you say they do nothing, do you mean they don't give you an opiate buzz, or are you talking about pain control? If they still help with pain but don't give you the same feeling then it could be the interaction with the other meds at play. If your pain control is reduced it sounds like increased tolerance. Anyway, that's just my opinion. If etkearne was still around he could probably give you a better answer. But I haven't seen him here in a couple of months at least.
fuck! thats alot of shit! Dont know what to tell you but I'm sure everyday is a different roller coaster ride!
I say its the Pristiq or trazadone just my guess id def check with your doctor or just call a pharmacy.
