Hello, I'm Nathan and i think i'm ready to get some dreads finally. My hair is roughly 6 inches long and it's extremely thick and more textured than the average caucasian hair so i think i should get some nice looking dreads. However i would like to get them done by a good loctitian but i am having trouble finding someone! I live in columbia Missouri and would be willing to drive anywhere in the state if anyone knows of anyone! Also, how long can i expect my dreads to be if my hair is 6 inches? Thank you guys!
the best locktitian is nature! but if you want to get faster results and want to backcomb you can do it yourself or have a friend or family member do them... you dont have to be a pro to do it. If your hair is the same as mine(which it sounds like it is) then your locks will be around 4 inches long. My hair was about 8 inches when i started and they ended up being around 6 inches or so. JUST DONT USE WAX!
Go natural bro. Natural soaps and leaving your hair alone, throw the comb away. Reflects much more personality to do it in that process. I'm not hatin Do what you wish... it's just my opinion.
whoa!..lol. this is totally off the topic, but i thought it was cool. my dad actually lives in columbia missouri..lol. wish i actually went to visit him, i'd definately love to help ya out! but you definately found the right place^^. i personally backcombed, but really, if you feel like you can and want too, it sounds like the whole natural way is an AWESOME experience^^. if i ever were put in the situation where i had to get rid of the dreads i have now, i'd definately just go natural the next time^^. crazy that you're from columbia tho!..lol good luck bruddah! i want dreads so bad. man i had about 4 natural dreads earlier this year until my mom made me comb them out. i loved them so much. it just felt like the right thing to do to have my hair in it's natural state. i'd get them again in a heartbeat but my mom won't let me. i'll get them when i move out.
