so i posted this in a sub forum, but its kinda slow so i got some heads the other day, and it def needed to be cured longer. It has a headies look but has the beasters smell almost. Is there a way to re cure your bud to give it the more natural skunky smell or should i just smoke it
Easily. Just go out and pick up a glass jar. Spice jars work great for storing weed, and you can buy them at most stores. World Market has really fantastic jars for the record, though. Anywho, put you're buds in there and make sure it's airtight. Every morning when you wake up before you do shit, open the jar and sort of waft some fresh air into the jar, then reseal it. Give it 1-2 weeks, and that'll cure it enough so that there's a significant difference. Also, make sure it's not wet, either. You can test this by breaking a stem. If it snaps audibly and easily, then it's dry, but if it bends at all then its too wet. You can dry out your herb by leaving it on a piece of cardboard or wood overnight, and you can repeat the process as many times as necessary. I hope this helps a little, bro. Good luck.
alrighty cool, the bud is already been shipped and a guess cured (poorly). I have put some lemon and orange peels in the mix just to fruity it up, and i have it in a jar now. How much per jar would you recommend. Should i have it so that there is plenty of space left over for air, or should i pack all the weed in one jar?
I dont think i will ever understand this facination with how weed smells. I mean your just going to burn it anyway. But yeah, orange peel works. And it makes it much less harsh.
If it wasn't cured properly than it will be less potent than it should be. As far as the amount per jar.......fill the jar leaving a decent gap inbetween the bud and the lid. EDIT:: Also if there is any moisture at all in the buds still, id do away with the orange peels. The peels have moisture in them and if you have them in a sealed jar with your bud, the buds will soak up that moisture. But if they are dry then the peels wont hurt anything.
i decided to switch the jar to a paper bag for at least 12 hours to get some of the moisture out, but i left it with the peels for the smell. Later im going to take them out and put the weed in the jar w/o the peels edit: maniac, although i think it might have been cured a little bit before, it def needs more. Will this process that im doing actually make my buds more potent than they are now, or will it just smell better.
be sure you dont leave the orange peel in there too long, or you could run the risk of getting mold. i would do it for no more than an hour, then take it out. if it seems to dry out again, maybe try for a little while longer. it´s a lot easier to do it in small increments vs. dealing with moldy bud.
yea, definately let it dry out some more before curing it. After its dried out id cure it for atleast 2wks. Also, yes.....drying it out and curing it for a couple weeks will make it a good bit more potent and tasty! And the smell will be 10 times better.
I don't know about the orange peels, I've never done that myself; however, properly cured bud is more potent than poorly cured bud. Drying also increases potency, and there are many factors that decrease potency as well. To cure it fully, it really needs to be about a month or maybe even two, but that's to achieve maximum potency which is something that many people are too impatient for. Mold is also a potential weed-killer, although I really don't know enough about it to be of any help. Many of the other threads on the forum are very true and helpful, so take their advice, definitely. Annnndd... yeah. Good luck, and enjoy your superior herb.
man so for a quick update, I left a nug out of the group and just let it sit in my grinder(unground) all day. I ground it up a min ago and it smelt amazing. Like night and day from the other batch. Thanks Fat man and maniac and everyone else
man unless you have some just unbelieveable fire (which im guessing you dont cause it smells like shit) just smoke it....
